Do you think we will resign him in the offseason or let him walk?
His career high in points is 19 and he just got that against the Spurs. He is a tweener, and Kleiza has more upside/potential playing at the same position. I think we probably bring him back, but is it really a good investment?

I think it depends on his asking price. If I remember correctly, Najera has hinted and said he would be willing to take a paycut to stay with the Nuggets so I think a deal in the area of 1-2 million a year is fair. But you never know with NBA players and what they deem as a "discount".

he already said tht he would resign for low money to help the team since the payroll is so high.

the only thing you mentioned is his career high of 19 pts. this guy is a hustler of his own. he does the things that doesn't appear on the stat sheet VEEERY often and is a good defender. you can't teach someone the attitude to defend.
of course kleiza has the bigger upside (offensively) but will never be the hard nosed defending hustler that najera is. every team needs a body like najera if you wanna win a championchip. look at other championchip contenders. there's nearly always a guy like najera i think.
i don't say that he brings the championchip but he's a piece to it. if najera doesn't wants too much money i'll say resign him!

ild guess we will give him a around 2 or 3 mil and he will be here for more than likely the rest of his career. I think the fact that he is willing to resign for cheap to stay with the nuggets I think also played a big role in the lack of him being traded at the deadline.
Eddie also brings alot of good things for Denvers Mexican population and is great in the community in general. Those type of things the Nuggets love to have.

If he is willing to sign for less money, I don't know how the Nuggets could not bring him back.
Good defender, hustler, he is litteraly the only guy on our team who understands how to cut to the basket, and (much to my suprise) has developed a nice three point shoot.
I don't know that you could get a better player for the couple million in salary he will likely ask for.

Najera>Kleiza. And they don't play the same position. Najera is a PF and Kleiza is a SF. Kleiza has major flaws to his game and always will because of his lack of speed. Both career bench players. Kleiza has a chance of starting on a bad/rebuilding team. Najera is much better off the ball (great finisher) and a much better defender. Kleiza is better on the ball but not by much. What's surprising to me is that the Nuggets' FO hesitated on a trade because of Kleiza and not Najera. I don't think I'll ever understand that, but maybe one day Kleiza will prove me wrong (doubt it).
Edit: Najera is going nowhere. Not only is he a great backup/bench player to have, but no team will offer him more than 4-5 million if even that. He's worth the price.

i think the reason is that maybe najera knew about it. he wanted to return to the nuggets after this season so there could've been the plan to trade him (for mike miller for example) and sign najera in the offseason again for the next season
that would've had been a nice plan!

I like that post and think it is spot on except for the pf part. I'd like to see us bring him back to, but we have had guys like him before that wouldn't command much salary, and they didn't as it turns out. Yet, our FO still gave them their walking papers with the gesture of don't let the door hit you where the good lord split you. Guys like:
The Birdman, servicable big and a fan favorite
Jon B
R Bowen, cheap version of Najera and a fan favorite.
Fransico
We don't seem to keep bargain guys that hustle for some odd reason.
