I'm just scared of seeing another 7-22 FG performance.

The Nuggets were out-executed down the stretch, as they always are. When it was 102-100 Spurs, and AI comes down and tries to dribble around the entire Spurs team shoots that unbelievably difficult fadeaway, not allowing anyone else to touch the ball. Someone needs to tell this clown that he's not playing with Matt Geiger and Tyrone Hill anymore, there's other guys who can make plays.

someone needs to tell you to get off ai jockstrap. I rarely ever respond to messages, i usually just read and see what the team is doing, but the ai critcism has just got too annoying. Im not gonna down Melo because I like Ai, I like how Jr. Smith. Yes Ai and Melo need to step it up on D. but when you have Anthony Carter starting, George Karl who doesnt know when to subsitute players. The guy subs Melo or Ai out of games when they are on fire, but when theyre playing like asses he doesnt sit them dwn for a minute and say something. And the worst thing he doesnt preach defense. Im sick of hearing about Ai messing things up when hes shooting a good fg percentage.averging 7assist and so on. I know pecentages aint everything it is more to the game than stats. but the ai hate is stupid. All the teams in the West got better with the trade deadline and so forth. Even the Warriors got help from C.Webb, Karl took a strong stance agaisnt trading for artest a defensive mongrul. Ok. he needs to take a strong stance on playing D. and playing hard on back to backs, and stop making excuses whn they lose. evryteam has injuries and are tired and so on. Now I seem like a Karl Hater. But I wouldnt care if he sat Ai down for not playing dfense. and Karl needs to stop letting every o possesion be one on one Im better than you. The one thing I blame Ai for is not being more of a leader and speak up like he did in philly. lead by example step the d up, tell melo to step his d up, tell the team to step it up. he know what it takes. he should act like it.

I think you guys are being unfair on AI. He was the main reason the Nuggs kept it so close last night. he was KILLING me everytime he shot it, it freakin went in, 3's 2's layups. He was unstoppable. AI deserves alot more credit than he gets.

i agree with you Magz. it usually takes a fan of one of the best teams in the league to acknowledge what another teams star is doing. No disrespect to the den fans. I was referring to the fans that make it ai vs melo and hate on ai constantly. they overlook what he does. he has flaws. but he brings alot to this team. hes not the prblem. they avg. the most posessions in the league its enough shots to go around. its the defense. Karl doesnt have a gameplan.

then how come the boxscore reads:
Iverson 9-22 FG, 40.9% FG?
all of our scorers could've killed the spurs defense (melo, JR, k-mart).
but the fact of the matter is that:
- melo was doubled every time he touched the ball in the second half
- popovich eventually put bowen on smith
- k-mart didn't get enough touches
Iverson is a beneficiary of the defensive attention that melo and smith received tonight. he was hitting shots against the mediocre defenders on the spurs defense...and it all went to his head. when popovich finally put a double team on iverson late in the fourth quarter (genious coaching move)...iverson wouldn't pass the ball at all and jacked up a fade-away baseline jumper over two defenders...which of course missed.
not to mention he dominates the ball more than anyone in the entire game. why did he only have 4 assists? guys like klieza, camby, najera, etc. needed someone to set them up this entire game...and no one did. as a result, those three players combined for a miserable 3-12 FG.
