Road Games...

Post#1 » by eathy » Thu Mar 20, 2008 6:01 am

So why are they such girls on the road?

Are they that metally weak, that opposition home crowds scare them?

It has nothing to do with them being "mentally weak". They`re just bipolar, ain't that what we called them last year? Look at last year. We were a good road team and a mediocre home team. Now things are reversed. They`re just the Denver Nuggets that we love to hate and hate to love.

Maybe they'll get it together. Have some "easy" road trip the next 3 and GSW schedule gets hard starting Friday so there's still hope, but thats why today was a huge game.

When you can't play defense it's hard to win on the road. Denver has some serious defensive issues. When its easy for the home team to score the crowd is constantly excited, players get excited and confident. I think it's time that the Nuggets reinvent themselves and it starts with the headcoach. Unfortunately it's a guy I have a lot of respect for but he's got to own up for this mess.

That's a great question..i truly believe that's what keeping this team from being only "good" and not elite because they either suck ass at home or there a great road team.

Every damn year it's the same shyt just reversed, were either a good home team and a crappy road team or vise versa..the nuggets never can be good at both so that's why there mediocre.

pretty much. We should've just built around Carmelo. I'm not bashing A.I. but if we didn't do the trade we wouldn't be going through this. If we just built around Carmelo, we probably wouldn't be one of the best West teams THIS YEAR, but we wouldn't have expectations as high as we had this season which means we`d be able to take the losses a little more and we wouldn't have to rush anything because of players getting older and ****.

Building around Carmelo means our pg situation would`ve been solved (We traded Nelson for what? and Jack for LK and a bum named Sanchez?) We could`ve drafted Francisco Garcia.

Andre Miller/Nelson
Garcia
Carmelo
Kmart/Nene
Camby

Nice team. We would`ve also had them 2 picks that we gave to Philly. ****, now our window is short because A.I. and Camby is old and we have no good young players outside of Carmelo (JR is gone after this year because of Fatman and Nene is inconsistent. Been in the league 6 years and haven't done a damn thing). Our team future really stink.

If we don't make the playoffs, I won't even watch it.

I got to say that sums it up. When this team suffers it's more of a "what me worry?" alfred e newman mad tv reaction ... the urgency they need to feel is not just run up the floor on offense and then slow down to one on one.....it's keep moving on defense and offense whether the ball goes in or not....keep moving

if they want to speak up about a foul do it when play has stopped if at all....man they can jog if they need to pace themselves but inbound that ball quickly every single time no matter what

Karl talked about this last Wednesday on the radio.

they're not nearly as focused defensively on the road, and he's not sure why. he thinks they try to win the game too much offensively.

also said they tend to dig themselves a hole at some point in every game...home or away. but the difference on the road is that it's very difficult to recover. the opposing crowd helps the other team to stem the tide, and there's always a call or two during a nuggets run that goes against them (because they're the road team) that stops it or impedes a change in momentum.

well, and Karl takes players out of the game right in the middle of a hot streak at times and kills momentum....yeah guys need to rest, but sometimes another 30 seconds of pressure on the other team can be the difference .... of course that's not just a road thing, but when it happens on the road, the opposing crowd gets that little window to get pumped and the subs are like "what we doin' now?"

I don't know....couple years ago they took a road trip for training camp to build road chemistry and it worked for that season, but then they shifted back to home the next season because home games were suffering, and ignored the road entirely. If these little psychological things matter, I don't see why they don't do more of them.

If they truly, genuinely do give a **** about winning a championship, we wouldn't be talking about their effort, their slow rotation, their questioned heart and desire, intensity, urgency...

Only a bad coach wouldn't see this, and even if he saw it, only a worse coach wouldn't try to fix it. We're not only 70 games into the season, but it's happened for at least the past two years.

Now the question is if Karl doesn't want to win a championship, what does he want? Get to the second round and "yes we make it to the second round. I've done my job"? His unbelievable low goal put a ceiling to what this team can do...
