Dirk Nowitzki went down injured and word is he will be out 2 weeks. The Nuggets are only 2 games behind them (Mavs are 7th in the West). If the Nuggets have had a shot to make up some ground and squeeze into the crowded playoff run this is it!
You get them head to head this week and they have a tough schedule coming up:
LA Clippers, Denver and Golden State this week
LA Clippers, Golden State, Lakers, and Phoenix next week
Seattle, Utah, Portland, and Seattle the following week

the door has always been open.
the team just doesn't take the opportunity (losing bucks, bulls, 76ers??)

We still have to win regardless, like others have said it has always been open. Question is will the Nuggets focus for their remaining games and wrap up a playoff spot.

If we win our home games...dallas, gs, phx, sac, houst, mem and on the road mem, lac, and sea, we will go 51-31 and I believe sneak into the 7th. Avoiding the Lakers..the only team that scares me besides ourselves, just maybe we can get Nene playing and decide to play some D and be okay. I think our D will pick up in the playoffs, when you are in a serious and get to know the opponent , if the talent is able the defense will naturally pick up and I think with Camby, Kenyon , AC-Melo and AI along with JR will step up and we can have as good of a chance as anyone, this includes the Spurs. Well here is hoping we can be professional and take care of biz

This definitely helped your chances. If you don't put them away now there is little chance you will do it at the end of the season. The rest of the season is going to be exciting for you guys, every game is a must win, I think you guys will pick it up and make it.

Its not like the Mavericks are going to go on a losing streak though. They're a very good team without Dirk. With this few games left in the season, a few percentage points dip isn't enough.

So the 3 game losing streak their on right now doesn't count?

You do realize the Nuggets are only a half game back, right? Not only that, but we still have two games left against the Warriors and one against the Mavs....and then the Mavs and W's play each other two more times as well. Not only are a "few percentage" points more than enough to move us from 9th to 8th, a few percentage points out west is the difference between 1st and 6th, and then not even making it at all.

I really hope the nuggets step it up and make the playoffs, if nene comes back they can hang with the best of them in a 7 game series.
