Im calling everyone out....

Post#1 » by Ballin02 » Tue Apr 8, 2008 5:54 am

This team is now in a do or die situation. They can either step up or go home. It seems like everytime after a loss (or even a win) there is always a lot of finger pointing on this forum. When the fact is they are a team. They win and lose as a team. You can argue all day about the players, but the fact is, this is the team you have...be greatful, because some teams don't even have half the talent. I for one would like to see some constructive criticism of the players and staff. Please feel free to add on some points of your own. If you are just going to hate...please don't post. This is half way serious and half way ment to lighten things up around these parts. I for one want to see everyone on that team succeed. Thats why as a fan i'm calling everyone out....

Front Office- Shame on you folks for aquiring Iverson and not providing him with the proper backcourt mate in the off season. You could have atleast just held on to Steve Blake. If you want to win now, shame on you for not just getting Ron Artest. I like Klieza..but if all they wanted was Klieza and a few other pieces then you should have just gave him up for Ron-Ron. If they wanted Klieza and Eddie, then I can understand why you wouldn't do it..because Ron-Ron is worth one of them, not both. If Karl is the one that stopped the trade, shame on you for allowing him to do so with the way this team has been playing this year. And if the Nuggets make the playoffs and get booted in the first round again, shame on you if you allow Karl to stick around in the snowy mountains one more day. You should have had his bags packed and waiting at the Pepsi Center after those losses against the Bulls and Bucks.

Karl- Goodbye already. You suck on coughdrops too much when your team is in trouble. You wear bad suits. You don't make proper substitutions at times, your timeouts are sometimes untimely, you have not maximized your players potentials. Yes, it is the players job to go out and give effort and perform, but it is your job to create chemistry and mesh your players properly. The players do not play off eachother the way they should. The half court defense and offense sometimes seems non-existant and is very predictable...its either "iso Melo" or "iso AI"...that team is too versitile for all that. You are a good Coach, just not the right Coach for that team anymore. Good job containing all those personalities (because that is a job within itself), good job helping your team stay afloat through all the injuries and lineup changes..other then that YOU FAIL!

AI- I know you have never been a "vocal" type of leader you're more of a "lead by example" type guy, but its time for you to step up and get in someones face and let them know whats at stake. Stop dribbling the the paint off the floor, if you're not going to shoot the ball...pass it already! People talk about Iverson D, but the fact is Iverson is almost always undersized against his opponents because of the position he plays. He is usually playing against 6'4 or higher gaurds, they can usually shoot right over him. If he is playing against a big PG like B-Diddy, how do you expect Iverson to body up on B-Diddys big ol' self with AI's 170 pound frame? I'm just saying, there is a reason he gambles on D. But thats not to say he could stand to stay with his man a little bit more then what he does. Other then that, keep playing the game the way you know best. Do not allow some of the heartless players on that team to rub off on you...continue to rub off on them. I don't know what has happened to you these past few games but get yourself together. Oh and stop shouting "And-1" after every shot. It gets annoying after a while...oh and work on your free throws.

Melo- if you want to be called a "superstar" then you need to put in a superstar effort night in and night out. Stop whining when things don't go your way. Its okay to play with your back to the basket at times, but you could be just as effective if not more effective when you are driving the lane and taking it to the hole. I don't mind the jumpshots, because when it comes to scoring you are about as pure as it comes...but start taking it to the basket please and become a BEAST! Stop shooting through double teams and pass the ball already (you have been doing a decent job of that over the last three weeks or so, but it has to continue) you have the ability to get 5 assist a night...apply it. You are in your fifth year and there are no more excuses... man up, and start accepting responsibility and accountibility. All Star games and other acculades will come, but that comes with winning.

Also, quit getting sloppy during crunch time in the 4th. I don't know what happen to the clutchness you had a few years ago...but go back and find it. Quit resting on the fact that you have AI by yourside to clean up the pieces. Lastly, you play D when you feel like it. You are too big to not be playing defense Melo. Even if they did get Artest, they would still need you to play defense, it wouldn't excuse you from playing it. Your D' made Kevin Durant look like MJ lastnight. Good job on the boards, it shows you are being aggressive. Keep your head up and don't allow the refs to get on your nerves when they swallow their whistle while you are getting manhandled under the basket. If they are not going to call a foul, just turn into a beast and make them pay for it. :D

Camby- I hate to say this, but i'm starting to wonder if you are overrated. Yes you block shots and try to pick up the slack when the other players on your team let thier defensive assignments blow past them...but you have to be the softest offensive center in the league. I have never seen a center miss more layups in a season. Why are there times that I see you dribbling the ball up the court like you're the PG? Why are there times that I see you, a center, at the top of the key at the beggining of offensive sets, when you should be..well..in the center! Lastly, stop getting exposed by lesser centers in the league please...its unnecessary. Thanks.

Kenyon- One of the bright spots of this season is your comeback from two knee surgeries. Congrats. All I ask is a continued defensive effort on your part, because when you are on...the team is almost unstoppable. Oh, and I don't mind if you pose or swing your arms after dunks...just make sure your team is not getting blown out at the moment while doing so. If you are winning, do whatever you wish to showboat.

AC- People are hard on you, but the fact is Karl has put you in a messed up prediciment. You are on a team with two of the best scorers in the league and are asked to control that on a nightly basis. You are a decent back up PG..but not a full time PG.. atleast not for this team. But you play hard and you have stepped up to the challenge and have done a better job then I think most want to admit to given your situation. You have also hit some clutch shots to help your team win...but you have also allowed Steve Nash to go off for like 37 pts and 14 assists in a blow out loss, so lets work on that.

JR Smith- People have said you are a knuckle head..which in some cases may be true. But I have been watching your game since you were a Hornet, and you have really stepped up and improved. You should get credit for that. I feel like you are an X-factor for this team. Continue being aggressive and you will be fine. Do not let Karl get to your head. On a side note..quit dunking the ball in games like you are at an All-Star dunk contest and missing them, please...the only way you should be able to dunk like that (instead of just simply doing a lay up) is if your team is up by 20 pts in the 4th. Quit chucking the 3-ball if your shots not falling, take it to the rim. I don't blame you for that though, its Karls Coaching style that doesn't have you living up to your full potential.

Eddie- I must admit, I didn't know much about you before I started watching Denver..but I am now a fan. You are a hard worker who is not afraid to do the little things and every team should have a player like you.

Klieza- I must say that I think that whole Artest trade rumor has gotten to your head..because since the trade deadline, you have not been the same player. Please pick yourself up and show people why the Nuggets should have even kept you instead of trading for a defensive stud (who can score just as well) like Ron Artest. Otherwise, it is going to haunt you.

Nene- I must say it is very inspirational to see a player come back from cancer and play the game...for that I commend you and wish you the best of luck. But..now that the cancer scare is over, stop getting injured please...and start earning your money. Your team needs you, you are also an X-factor. Your team has been without you most of the season and could have really used you, they probably would have won an extra 5 or 6 games with you. Please continue to work your way back to maybe 20-25 minutes a game. It would be a great privilage to see you out there shutting Shaq down again.

I would mention the rest of the players but since Karl doesn't bother to play them as much it would be a waste anyway. I still have hope and beleive this team will make the playoffs..but after these few loses, they have some serious soul searching to do...they need to want it as much as the fans want it for them. Go Nuggets 5-0!

good post with some great points. hopefully this team wakes up in time, they still could be very scary if they can get on a roll in the playoffs.

To be honest, I only skimmed through the post. In the future I would suggest maybe making it a bit shorter, it just seems scary to read. I can't imagine most people actually read the whole thing.

As for what I read, seemed spot on. But really, I couldn't care less to really comment and go into depth what the players could do individually or as a team to improve the situation. There are what 5 games left? If they still haven't made the adjustments after coming 77 games, don't expect them to do so now. Just accept it and face reality. If it gets them to the playoffs then great, if not, then so be it. If there's going to be any changes at all, even the slightest, it won't happen before the playoffs. I guarantee it.

I read the whole post. That is what I call keepin' it real.

:eek2:

I especially like the one about AC. We all know he's a backup point guard put in......this situation. C'mon now, for the situation he's been put in he's treading water.

Well done.

Thanks for your input noone, but this post really wasn't meant for people to go through individual players and crutique like I did, I was just did that for the hell of it (it wasn't meant for you to crutique my post) It was just meant for people to post any suggestions or getting things off their chest for whatever they felt like wether it was for this year or for years to come, just suggestions on what they felt could make their team better on any aspect. Thats all. I know people are a little down about their team right now, so it was also meant to lighten up on the situation a little bit considering that people are almost always arguing on these forums.

I dont think a player can be a futue hall of famer and accomplished all he has by not knowing how to use his talent. Its hard to lead the league in assist if you dnt have alot shooters around you and when you players that are so dominant one on one. Jr. Smith is a shooter but he's a different type of shooter and alot of the times Ai plays sg so i wouldnt expect him to avg. assist like Nash and cp3.

As far as Ballin 02 goes great post. I think you basically nailed everything. The team needs a gutcheck. I'm A Big Iverson fan, but I'm not one of these d**k riding fans who feels there fav.players cant do no wrong, and I'm not gonna blame others when Ai doesnt come thru. He needs to get more vocal. Everything you said from the dribbling to the free throws was on point. I like how you challenged everyone on the team. Thats what a true fan does.

Its time for Denver to really step up. Get the next 4, make the post season, and who knows what could happen then.

Tomorrow's game is going to be a great one. I think the winner of that will move on, let's hope Denver pulls through. Kenyon will have a big night!
