First off, I am not here to troll.
Nothing wrong with drinking beer.
The problem is being a dumbass and driving while drinking, there is no excuse for that. I really don't want to google car accidents and drunk driving.
Furthermore, this is not an isolated incident. Carmelo has a history of behavior problems.
He's got all the god given talent and ability in the world, but his head is just not on right.

Yup.
Or just like a myriad of other professional athletes in America who commit crimes but get away scot clean.
Didn't Ray Lewis commit murder?
We put our athletes on pedestals, thats for sure.

A DUI is nothing to be proud of, for sure, but it is absolutely NOT a reason to crucify someone.
I think you would be hard pressed to find an adult who can honestly say they have never driven drunk in their entire lifetime, ever.
That doesn't mean it's not incredibly stupid and irresponsible, but it doesn't make you a criminal.

1) Innocent until proven guilty.
2) Why don't all pro athletes just hire a driver? They certainly have enough money.
3) This is bad timing for a distraction like this.

Hopefully he gets a chip on his shoulder based on all the hate people will throw his way.
This isn't a good thing. Melo has to be smarter and more careful, but innocent or guilty this isn't the end of the world.

Think about it though, what kind of crazy mutha **** is drinking at 4 AM on a Monday morning? He may have drank the night before, but I highly doubt he was still certifiably drunk at that time. ****, I'd be tired as **** by about 4 and would be swerving my ass in and out of the lane too.
And you know what, who really cares....if he was down by 20th and i25, who is he really going to hit? Maybe a bum or a redneck Rockies fan camped outside Coors Field....but honestly, would that really be too bad? I say give him a **** medal for that.
I tell you what it really is though......Stephen Jackson has got to have about a million connections in police stations throughout just about every NBA city by now, so i'm sure he just sent a little money the way of one of those crooked ass pigs to hit Melo with a bull charge, because thats about the only way the Warriors have a chance in hell to make the playoffs now.

I don't care that he decided to drink...celebrate a good win?? or whatever, but he's got many friends or millions of dollars...he can't call a cab or get a limo or a friend???
How would he feel if he ran into a family going on vacation with a little boy his son's age? Very fortunately he didn't he didn't hurt anyone.
Yes it is a reason to "crucify" someone. Especially a person that wants to be the face of a franchise and be a leader. Is it a terrible decision. He's not just a 23 year old young adult needing to get home... He's Carmelo Anthony a 2 time all-star and a multi-millionaire.
I would crucify any athlete in town. They have the means and have been counselled on drinking and driving as an athlete all the time by their league and their advisors.
No, it's not a murderer... but it was a very irresponsible move from a person that completely knows better.
