It would never happen, but....

Since the season is over,
Iverson/Camby to Houston for McGrady, Battier, Bobby Jackson
This brings a new twin towers to Houston, but Camby is well suited to play PF as well as backup Yao when he gets hurt. Iverson replaces McGrady's scoring and puts people in the seats.
and
Carmelo/Atkins to Atlanta for Bibby/Horford
This leaves Atlanta a little thin up front, and they probably don't do this unless they can lineup another servicable big man for one of their small forwards.
Nuggets lineup
Bibby - Bobby Jackson
Battier - resigned JR Smith
McGrady - Kleiza
Horford - Kmart
Nene - Hunter
I'm not sure Houston would do the first deal. I also thought about replacing Bibby with Joe Johnson, but then I don't think Atlanta does it and it leaves the Nuggets without a real PG, and we know how that turns out.

Second deal is very bad... The first is interesting though... Doubt Houston does it though.

I think Atlanta balks at the idea of any deal including Horford. He will either be ROY or most likely runner up. He is capable of playing center and is showing flashes of his potential. I think Horford, LaMarcus Aldridge and Al Jefferson are going to be the next wave of dominant big men.
I don't see Houston doing that deal either. A backcourt of Iverson/Alston isn't going to cut it and despite being better defensively in the frontcourt, they get significantly worse on the perimeter. They lose their best 2 perimeter defenders in TMac and Battier. So basically you are going to end up with a situation similar to Denvers where their big men will have to make up the slack for their guards lack of defense.

This might set a new record for different extremes of one-sidedness in two trades proposed in a single post.

I didn't blame AI...I simply said, name an NBA franchise that would like to pay this guy the money he's going to demand.

Houston already has great defense. And were competing for 1st seed. When yao is back they have nothing to deal. They seem to have a great coach now and they won't do anything but get some vet with MLE.
ATL seems to be comfortable with what they have and are waiting for youngs to develop.
I say denver needs a better coach and definitely trade melo for someone else. It would be nice to get Jamison or maybe Elton Brand. Formany teams that seems to have problem with the coach, i suggest Larry Brown (especially for AI) but he is taken now. The team just need new system.

I am sure there are teams out there that would not mind have a top 5 scorer in the league, an all star, and also has a massive expiring contract if it does not work out.
I'm not sure I really like the Atlanta deal either, but it was what I came up with. Would it change anyone's mind if it were Joe Johnson and Horford for Carmelo/Atkins + 2nd. It just leaves the Nuggets a little thin at PG again.

Mutombo can not backup Yao forever. They need a backup big man in a bad way. Not saying that they would like this deal, but if they stand pat and Yao get's hurt, then they are in trouble.

Yeah, because everybody has a need for a 6 foot guard, that isn't a point, but can't guard a 2. Did I mention he needs a lot of shot attempts to get his points, or the lack of Defense? Or how about how he kills ball movement by use of the And-1 dribble. Now, go ahead and name a team that is interested in that. And exclude naming teams from the Rucker.

k, I'll take the bait.
Kobe indicated that he was ticked the Lakers didn't go after him when Philly was trading him. So I think the Lakers would want him, but not at the expense of what they have right now, so no Pau or Kobe. I would think they would part with Odom though.
The Knicks would probably love to have him. He can fill seats, sell Jersey's, and be a massive expiring. Too bad they don't have anything we want.
Orlando would also love to have his expiring contract so they could sign a free agent to go along with Howard.
The Cavaliers would love to have another scorer to take the pressure off of Lebron. You don't think Lebron would be happy to have AI on his team?
I could go on, but what is the point.

Yeah Lebron and AI....why not...cause Melo and AI worked great. LA? So you have Kobe and AI? And start two 2 guards? Ok. The Knicks....great fit, they don't win and they sell tickets, and they need somebody to sell jerseys. What is AI's career winning pct. again? I think the east is where he needs to be anyway.

26.4 points at 46% on 19 shots/game
2nd in the league at free throws made and 3rd in free throw attempts. 9th in dimes and 4th in steals.
Stop your hating. The only real debate is his defense because of his size and the position he plays, just have to play him at the PG position with a good defending SG, it would work. Not Anthony Carter.

Iverson isn't the kind of player you just throw on any team with no thought process behind it. Like the Nuggets did. Even worse was the Nuggets just threw AC with him in the backcourt (couldn't be much worse) and also had no gameplan whatsoever in the first place. It makes me think AI was brought to Denver just for the sake of it to sell tickets and jerseys. It's like the FO just saw a high risk/reward without any thought process for doing the trade from a team/chemistry standpoint. If they did, then Karl needs the boot tomorrow.

The debate is defense because obviously it has something to do with winning as we've found out. He's not a PG, worst guard I've seen at throwing a simple lob pass.....maybe, maybe if Livingston hadn't torn out his knee, you could play those 2 in the same backcourt. AI dominates the ball, and for a team that would like to move the ball, he doesn't exactly fit in.

trade camby for a halfway decent big man and a good (defending) point guard. camby value will only decrease in the next years so why not trading him at his prime when you get most our of him in a trade.
the front office made a really bad move in signing atkins (and finally) NOT using him all season long (even after he was healthy again).
the stuff that carter did was pretty much nothing special atkins couldn't have done better.
another idea would be adding carter to the mix and trading him too. he had his best season of his whole carreer this year and should have a little increased trade value now.
