Dan Patrick stressing Nuggets not playing defense and teamwork are an embarrassment...
(6:09)
DP: "You said you're going to get tough now going into next season..."
Karl: (laughing - he must be thinking, "did I really say that?")
DP: "... what the hell does that mean for a team full of gunners that doesn't play any defense and is there a friction with you and Carmelo, and is AI going to stay? Do you revamp the lineup? What is going on here in Denver, George?"
Karl: "I think all those things you wrote down right there in front of you are all going to have to be analyzed and scrutinized a little bit... I think all season long we played 100 games in the year (100 games???!?? Really???!? More like 86 games!!!) and we let the media scrutinize us." (how the hell does this answer the question?!?)
---
A lot more there to be heard... Karl saying he thinks they need to make some changes and there's a good chance "Melo and AI will be back next season" (no guarantee).
GK: "We'll try to win 51 next year!"
DP: "Alright that'll help and
win a game in the playoffs too or two."
GK: "Ohk Dan" (sheepish)
DP: "Thank you bye."

SO he wants to win 51 games next year huahahahah I thought the standard was 55 games...
Guess that's the ceiling GK puts for this team next year. And that means we will finish with 46 wins considering we were 5 wins short of his expectation this season.
And GK already putting into consideration all of the other teams in the West getting better... the Blazers getting better, the Clips getting better, the Warriors getting better... he's trying to get a pass for next season already. He's amazing.

Man, that segment made me a huge Dan Patrick fan. He completely ripped GK. Money quote:
GK: "Always tough when I have to come on here after a loss."
DP: " I know... well, if you'd ever win a game I'd have you back on again."
Can't imagine Karl was too happy with that segment. But Jesus, he just sounds like a moron. He didn't even defend himself or his team after Dan pointed out that they don't pass the ball or play with any semblance of teamwork. It's gotta be tough to be told you're a failure on national radio.
I thought good journalism was dead-- thanks for proving me wrong Dan.

I just heard the whole interview. Props to Dan Patrick for putting Karl on the hotseat.

<---My reactions to Karl's answers.
I'm waiting for the day that Karl leaves. THE SOONER THE BETTER!

ya Dan Patrick doesnt give a crap who you are, he will ask whatever he wants. Much better then the "george karl show" interviews every wedesday.... but atleast GK said there will be changes this year and he didnt come out and guarentee that AI would be here next year.
seeing Dan Patrick make a fool of GK made my day though, thank you for the Link.

when will karl ever leave though????? most of us in here thought it was a LOCK that GK would be fired if he got bounced in the first round again. Denver Nuggets front office is one of the biggest jokes in the NBA, it amazes me on how clueless they are, Im still shaking my head at the fact we played 82 games with a 6ft back court.

great interview by Patrick. Karl sounds so clueless. I dont care how well Martin guarded Kobe. You shouldnt have to use your power forward to guard a 2guard. I doubt that Dencver will trade A.I or Carmelo but there is no way that Anthony Carter should be starting next year. Also next time he should bench A.I or Carmelo if they are not going to pass the ball and how about getting Kenyon Martin and Camby more involved in the offense.

forget about involving camby. he missed so many open layups during the season (and playoffs) that he doesn't deserves the ball offensively. he's very similar to ben wallace. any point he makes is just a bonus for us. we don't expect his points (and shouldn't)
BTW: the interview sounds like A.I. and Melo will return next season. karl said at the near end that he thinks they can figure out how to win with a.i. and melo. so it seems like the changes will happen with our bench or a camby trade is there. i still think we have a shot at artest too

Boykins will make a comeback.
Carter - PG
Chucky - SG
AI - SF
Boykins - PF
Melo - C
Melo and Boykins cancel eachother out and then the lineup averages 6 feet. Let's win 50 games NBA2K8.

Karl cannot come out and openly talk about trading anybody, if the deal goes south, or the offers flat out suck saying someone should be traded is just asking for trouble next year.
