WTF?, carmelo isn't a great role player in this league, you can say he can be a great second option to a dominant big or a player better then him but saying he's a role player is stupid. He's a star player and can get to that potential true superstar status.
Second of all, mike bibby and freaking marvin im a bust williams?, im sorry but the denver nuggets can get alot more then these two players if their really dealing carmelo.

Why dont you keep Camby and do Carmelo + KMart to TOR for the following combination:
1. Young players with potential= Bargnani and Graham
2. Your choice of PG= Tj Ford or Calderon
3. A boatload of Expirings= Rasho+Garbo+Parker+etc...
4. TOR's 2008 1st rounder (17)
Seems a little more favorable that simply trading Melo for exp. and Marvin Williams...

Denver is not going to take K-Mart, no one will. K-Mart limits the ability to build around your core becuase of his absurd contract.
Bargs is not someone with high potenial, he can be good but nothing too serious. Do you really want Ford if your rebuilding. This trade isn't going to be make before the the 2008 NBA draft, blockbusters like this are make in the mid summer, not June.

I meant he can be a great role player with different types of players. My bad on that one, I thought I said that. He is a great first option on offense, but you cannot build your team around him. His overall impact is similar to Mitch Richmond. For him to be a elite he has to have the players around him that let him do his job alone. He is not Wade or Lebron. He needs to be on a team with role players and a leader because Melo is not a leader. He reminds me of a NBA verison of DeAngelo Hall.
EDIT: Marvin is not close to a bust, I don't even know where you got that from. I watched most of his games, he is one of the best young players(3 yr pro- rookies) in the game. He is no Deron or Paul but he can be just as good if not better then Joe Johnson in the future.

So basically you said trade Carmelo for Marvin Williams? LMFAO. You should be shot, stabbed, ran over, and everything else bad that can possibly happen for making the dumbest post in the history of message boards.

Your not going to get a better deal, maybe Miami will trade Marion and their draft pick of 08 draft. But in all likelyhood... This is the best your going to get, a possible 20-25 ppg scorer with good defense for a good price. What more are you going to get. No one will trade you a young star, NO ONE. This is by far the closes your getting to the young star. Have you even seen him play outside of the Bos/Atl playoff series?

So Carmelo isn't the type of player that you build a team around, yet Marvin Williams is?

Which is why he won't be traded. We'll never get equal value.

We already have a young star who is a sure fire 25+ ppg scorer in Melo. Why trade that for potential?
