I don't see Carmelo being here next season

Whether you people like it or not, there must be talks. Multiple league sources wouldn't be commenting on it if there wasn't. The whole thing since we had did the A.I. trade was to get a big guard. Mayo/Rose/Bayless can all play point guard and they're perfect fits for Denver.
I don't see the trade as being a good trade for Denver especially if they're giving up Camby as well, but I think this smoke will have a fire. And even if its not to the Nets, I think Carmelo is getting traded. The Nuggets probably feel the need to rebuild and if Melo gets traded there is a high chance A.I. opts out. Thats more cap relief.

What are the league sources though? A couple of guys on NJ? Thorn's shoe boy?
The silence from Denver's FO is deafening though. I'd think they would have a put out a statement stopping this all by now.

I think a lot of this talk will die down after the draft lottery and I think the FO will deny these rumors afterwards as well. The deal mentioned today seems to hinge on what pick NJ ends up with.
I really doubt Melo goes anywere because, like him or not, we will end up just as bad as we were before he got here. AI will be gone after next season, Camby most likely will be gone sooner, Nene is unreliable at best and JR is just not polished enough to be a #1 threat. Offensively at least Melo is consistent, defense is just a matter of him wanting too, I think that falls on the coach and it is obvious that Karl and Melo are not, nor ever will be, on that page.

I can tell that you were not a fan of the Nuggets when Kiki was in charge Peanut. Kiki loves to float ideas in the media and speak as if he has pending deals to others around the league, it helps him to draw fan interest, helps let the league know he is trying to move someone and he expects good value, and more importantly gets him attention. The fact that stories are coming out about New Jersey and Kiki's interest in Nuggets players does not surprise me one bit, and when he was doing it for the Nuggets it always was entertaining to say the least.
AS for whether or not Melo is traded, I do not know and neither does anybody outside of the Nuggets front office, but I will tell you right now Jefferson, a back up PG, and filler will not get it done for camby and Melo.

If Melo isn't here next year, I don't see myself in the Pepsi center next year.

Whatever happens happens. I'm really upset the way Melo has handled himself, and the way he seems to never want to work on his game. I would much rather watch young players develop than watch this team, which is built to win, fail over and over.
That said, this New Jersey deal is completely ridiculous. Nets simply do not have enough to pull off a trade, and if they somehow do, our FO looks like complete idiots. We get very little pieces, lose a top 4 center and first team all defense, and a guy who is one of the league's top scorers. Richard Jefferson? We should get the draft pick just for taking on this loser.
Please god, just let this rumor die!!!

GM's float these type of rumors so tension builds in the locker room of the player they are trying to acquire. This is a move to manufacture more tension, Kiki saw that things weren't great in Nuggetsland and floated this to hopefully cause an irreparable break between Carmelo and the Nuggets. Players, especially stars, get very upset when they hear their name floated in trade talks. If Melo were to take a step and demand a trade then teams like the Nets can acquire him at a discount.

A #2 pick, if they get it, is not filler It is a franchise PG in Derrick Rose.

If the Nets get really lucky and get the 2nd pick I'd take Rose, Jefferson and filler for Melo.

Melo and Ai are good friends in life....I think Carmelo will get traded, and in fact AI doesn t have time to wait again that a Beasley,Rose,,,etc will get 2 years to be ready.
My thought is Denver will move carmelo 13million +AI 22 + Camby 11...so 46 million out, they get Van Horn expiry if Melo goes to the nets, plus they will rebuil probably thinking guys like Kleiza and JR will lead them, well it could be a good move.
You guys are the fans, i like Denver but i am in Europe, so unfortunately i can t go in the arena, so you have to put yourself as owner of the team and mostly think moneywise as if it was your money, you might change your mind.
Definitely Denver is a highly Business team, like it or not....
Prepare to see Denver next year without AI-Melo_Camby...it s a pity i think.

It depends on the deal, but I agree with you and I don't think he is going anywhere. The Nuggets are just trying to light a fire under his ass IMO.

With Melo it might have the opposite effect and make him mad and in turn even less motivated. It's kind of a risky move by the Nuggets.
But I hope you're right and Melo wakes up and uses all these rumours as motivation to prove everyone wrong.

It could very well backfire and cause him to demand a trade.

People might not like it here...but Jefferson is a hell of a player who doesn t care to be under the spot...Denver need these can of player.
It could be
Rose
Jefferson
AI
KM
Nene
it sounds hot....but i guess you have to take out AI because if melo goes i am 95%sure he opt out...
i am a bit scared without Camby though, cause i don t see NENE playing like him...
If the deal of Denver would send Melo+Camby plus AI opting out....
Guys don t forget Emeka Okafor would be a free agent
Rose(if nets gets him)
Jefferson
KM
JR
Okafor
osunds hot no + they will have salary cap i think AI 22 millions will be out

You're right, if Nene is healthy next season, he won't play anything like Camby. He'll be a lot better. He'll actually play defense on his man, he'll actually box out, not steal rebounds from team mates, not try to play PG, and would be an actual threat on offense around the basket.

Get rid of Camby I'm sick of him letting penetrators drive around him because he wants to swat the ball from the side... He just wants to pad his stats not defend.
Honestly I think Melo will be here next season... but there will be a lot of talks for sure.

lol, yeah right Nene, this was probably the worse sign for Denver ever...Nene is a good player, but the kind of players with injuries always....

If Melo is gone, AI will leave and JR Smith will leave.
And can we please stop talking about prospects like they are proven talents. Rose has talent but I have seen more talented player not pan out in the NBA. He could be a future all-star type PG or he can be a bust that is why they are called prospects.
If you put Melo in the draft right now he would be far and away the number #1 pick.
You have to kid yourself if a team wouldnt trade there number #1 pick for a proven all-star that can average 30 ppg in the NBA and who is only 23 and already has five years of NBA experience. Maybe some fans wouldn't do it because they hate Melo but I doubt any actual GM would turn down a chance to get a 23 year old franchise player.

Just made ESPNNEWS. This dedal sounds more and more true as the day go by. And the Nuggets not releasing a statement is kinda fishy imo.
