Executives with other teams say Denver's management group is divided over Anthony's place with the team. They say Karl wants to trade him, but that general manager Mark Warkentien and club advisor Bret Bearup are against the move.

:curse: DAMN YOU KARL!

Melo stays!

Very smart of the FO to hang onto a useless coach who hates our star player. He has a pattern on his track record for blaming players for his failures.

It's frustrating that right now we could be listening to a new optimistic coach's inspirational words about the team and the up coming season, but instead we are still dealing with this loser.

If Karl does want to trade him hopefully he'll try for more than what he got in return for Ray Allen.

Btw the bulls board is going crazy over this

Who couldn't see this one coming? This team has let his name make the rounds in internet rumors for way too long this summer, and who can blame him for being tired of it.

If this team trades Melo and keeps Karl and AI the front office should be lined up and shot, with Karl forced to coach for the next decade while this team rebuilds and goes through hell (that should kill his image and be sufficient punishment)

i dont know why Carmelo is bothered by trade rumors. it happens all the time in the nba. many times it is erroneus but all that means is there are alot of teams that have interest in Carmelo's talent. Denver would be stupid to give up on Carmelo though. There is no way they can get equal value for him. Hopefully the trade rumors will motivate him and get him to play better when it matters most in the playoffs. Carmelo for all of his criticism was exceptional on the U.S.A team. He was better than Lebron and he has had back to back great regular seasons but unfortunately players get judged on what they do in the playoffs.

that's probably what's running through melo's mind right now...

What are Nuggets fans prepared to do if Karl successfully lobbies to get our star player traded? I haven't bought a ticket to a Nuggets game in over a year, but the Pepsi Center is still full. If we want change, we need to force it.

I have faith in our FO (which is strange for me to say, since I am a major critic of them), that we will keep Melo, no matter what Karl wants. Karl should be on the hot-seat, and I think our entire FO thinks he should be, Kroenke is the only one who probably doesn't. If we choose our coach on the hot-seat, over our star player, those of you in Denver need to do some type of boycott. Hell, maybe Karl thinks he can kill 2 birds with one stone by getting rid of Melo, thus making it more likely JR will leave.

although i generally think melo is overrated by denver fans, this is ridiculous. melo is the only player denver really has that can be built around. there is nothing they can get for melo short of a dwight howard level player that can possibly move this team forward in one swell swoop. they have an old roster full of injury prone has beens.

if they get rid of melo, they need to send AI packing as well, cause this team will be in full on re-building mode.

I absolutely agree that Melo has been overrated, and I am certainly guilty of that. Now has to be the absolute worst time to be a Nuggets fan-- seriously, worse than when we won 12 ****ing games. The problem is that we have now learned that we have terrible ownership, worse coaching, and a hamstrung front office with a horrible integrity problem.

Now the wiretap is saying that J.R. might be a target of the Spurs! I don't care how blatantly false the rumor might be, but this franchise has more drama than Gossip Girl. The fact that a successful businessman like Kroenke can't see the detrimental impact that Karl, his fractured locker room, and his inept front office have had on the FANS' opinion can only lead me to one conclusion-- He honestly doesn't give a ****. We might as well move the whole team, because we'll be back to the laughing stock we've always been if this soap opera continues.

Out Kroenke. Out George. Out three headed monster. Give me my god damn team back!

i won't be able to support an organization that would trade Melo before firing Karl and/or trading AI.
unless something RIDICULOUSLY good was offered for Melo.

i'm absolutley prepared to jump ship to support another team if they trade Melo, keep AI & Karl and do not get decent value in return for Melo. i can live with myself doing that. (living in australia and not having any ties to the USA enables me to be 'choosey')

it's definitely not something i'd want to do though.

what makes this SO damn hard is watching Karl just have his way with the team...any other coach on any other team with 4 straight first round playoff exits would be sent packing by now...

seriously...wtf.

Shawn Kemp, Ray Allen, and now Melo. It was just a matter of time until Karl history repeated itself.

they are definitely creating bigger conflicts than they had before. cause now they are forcing folks like AI to play for a contract. denver fans have no idea how much he's been sublimating his play trying to fit in. now that its clear he'll be the scapegoat regardless and melo is on his way out. expect AI to go for 33 every night until they trade him to a team that wants an expiring contract.

worse if they do in fact keep melo, i dont really seeing this motivating him to play smarter. cause honestly the only real weakness he has right now is his decision-making under pressure. instead of reviewing game tapes and responding to coaching in the off-season, i just see melo sulking and blowing up for the better part of the season until heads roll.

and now they are letting JR go. the one under-paid player they have on their roster. between JR and Melo, you got your core already. Why mess that up?

How to fix Denver:

1. PLAY JR.
2. Move AI to the point and let his contract expire or trade before February for a point guard that can shoot the three and pass/and a real power forward thats good for a double double every night.
3. Assure Melo he's not going to be traded, unless Dwight, or Amare become available.
4. Get rid of nene and k-mart if at all possible, possibly trading for an expiring contract in artest.
5. See if LA will take Camby for Kamen.

Kleiza, atkins, and AC should be fodder to sweeten the deal getting rid of nene or k-mart or camby.

6.Finally, a coaching change is in order. Bring in Avery Johnson so he can change the culture of this franchise like he did in dallas.

The first two steps alone will give them 3 to 5 more wins in the regular season and thus a better match up in the play-offs. And their first second round appearance in years. But nowhere in any of that should Melo be on the table for a trade unless its an impossible deal to turn down.

i think Kroenk is giving a **** if he's willing to pay for the luxury.

unless he treats money like trees.

Seems to me any team should tell any player "if the right deal came along that we feel would move us toward our goal of winning a championship, we'd have to strongly consider it." No player is worth sacrificing a ring for.

And the first deal they should make is to thank Karl for his efforts and show him the door. Find a coach who demands discipline and defense from his team. Streetball's getting old, and it doesn't win championships.
