Yeah because the trade came up all of a sudden and for practically nothing. I doubt any player in the NBA would feel happy going from a supposed contender to a rebuilding team for a swap of 2nd round picks.

Well of course he's insulted. Is this really worthy of an article?

I'm just embarrassed to call myself a Nuggets fan now days...

In the short term, the Nuggets are considering Chris Andersen and Francisco Elson as possibilities to replace Camby.

It gets worse, going by wiretap, New Jersey offered you guys a pick of Marcus Williams, Josh Boone, Sean Williams and expirings for Marcus, and Denver said no. Ouch.

They didn't take on contracts because they know they can't win right now. I don't know why Nuggets fans are so upset. Sean and Marcus Williams and Josh Boone would not have won us a championship. Camby couldn't get us out of the first round. If he wasn't told he was on the block this summer, then I understand why he's upset. HOWEVER (Stephen A. Smith), Camby is just sad to realize that he's a 34 year 7 ft. point guard with injury problems. It was a great trade.

Camby knows that this move was purely made for financial reasons, right?

It's not like the Nuggets FO came out and say that they lost in the 1st round cuz of Camby and his defense.

The trade had to be made where the Nuggets eliminated $9+ mil in guaranteed $$$ without taking any salary back so that they don't have to pay double that amount since they were over the Luxury Tax. Camby was the most likely candidate to be moved due to his contract ( which was way better then KMart and Nene ) and productivity.

I'm guessing that the Kroenke isn't like Paul Allen, James Dolan or Mark Cuban when it comes to freely spending $$$ on his team. I will admit that the offer that the Nets made would have been a good trade for the Nuggets......but considering that the Nuggets would have taken back salary ( despite receiving Expiring Contracts...which is irrelevant since it will still keep them over the Luxury Tax ), I understand why the Nuggets Owners ( much less any owner ) would not want to go that route.

Although Camby's ego is clearly bruised.....cuz I recognize that his value is not that low....as eathy posted.....it's a business. Get over it already.

I understand why Nuggets fans would be upset since they got nothing for an actually productive player. I too would be upset that they couldn't move Camby ( or anyone else ) to get anything of value before the 2007-2008 trade deadline came ( when they could have clearly gotten something of value.....draft picks or prospects....even if most of what they got in return would been Expiring Contracts in the 2007-2008 season ).

It's entirely possible that the Nuggets FO did try to move some players before this season to clear the impending Luxury Tax that they would be paying this season.....but they clearly came up short and are facing the end-result now. To me, that just shows poor roster/financial/salarycap management by the Nuggets FO.

They didnt want to pay luxury tax this season. Otherwise, they would have taken back contracts that expire at the end of this upcoming season along with having at least recieving a 1st round or a youngin' with good potential still on rookie salary. Whats not to understand?

God I would have loved bringing in Sean Williams and Marcus WIlliams. I suppose we really needed the salary cap savings though.

Thorn, who virtually never comments on trades or trade rumors, did however shoot down a report that the Nets offered Josh Boone, Marcus Williams and Krstic to the Nuggets for Marcus Camby before the former defensive player of the year landed with the Clippers for basically a Happy Meal.

“Not true,” Thorn said emphatically.

Marcus just needs to not think about being traded for a second round pick and move forward. It's a business and it's a decision that your ownership had to make. I'd like to think that it was a difficult one for them to make due to the fact theres really no gain outside of the money. No never know!

Both sides would have been stupid: Nets offering Sean & Marcus Williams and Nuggz turning it down. I dont believe a word on it

I guess Nuggets really prefer the $10 mil trade exception over talent. It remains to be seen if this Camby trade is good or not until they use it. If they don't use it, then it's strictly Kroenke wanting to shed the salary over having a good team.

But if they use the exception to land someone like Hinrich, the Camby trade would be a great trade.
