Key Matchup:

Need a good rebounding night out of Nene, and for him to stay out of foul trouble (the usual)
Last Meeting: April 8 2008117-99 Denver victory
Carmelo had 36 on 13/17 shooting
Camby tallied 18 rebounds
Iverson verged on a triple double with 21/7/9
Mobley scored 25.
Nobody on the Clippers bench scored in double digits.
Denver: 0-1Carmelo will be serving a two game suspension for his DUI arrest in April.
Atkins is out until the second or third week of the season after undergoing knee surgery.
Hunter's out with knee pain.
Keys to winning:Bench play - Need Smith and Kleiza to fill the scoring void left my Melo.
Rebound - Without Camby gobbling up 13 a game and Melo getting another 8, everyone will need to put an emphasis on crashing the defensive boards and grabbing the lose balls that come out of the paint.
Last (will be) 5 Games:L Utah
LA Clippers: 0-1Baron Davis has been bothered by a finger injury, but played against the Lakers on Wednesday.
Marcus Camby has a heel bruise and will miss the game.
Last (will be) 5 Games:L LA Lakers
Photos:
"ok kenyon...you run down the court and spot up here. then shoot the 3"

Is Thornton playing? He had some nice games as a rookie against us last season. If we get the same effort out of Kleiza and Jones again tonight, he could have a monster game against us.

He is playing ^ unless he got injured in the first game??
Actually I was happy with last night's game vs. Jazz aside of the last 10 secs of the game... we played competitive most of the game... you can't say that about this team last season. We'd be competitive for 2 quarters, then take a quarter off etc.
I think Andersen will get lots of minutes if he continues to rebound and play positional defense, fill the paint, and just finishing around the basket, etc.
Balkman plays D like Carmelo plays O, just beautiful and nasty... and vice versa Balkman plays O like Melo plays D, ugglleeee. Oh well at least he moves the ball as soon as he gets it. But we need to send him to whoever gets hot.
You can tell J.R. was pissed Kenyon took the last shot... he's like, "I know I screwed up at end of games, but you'd (GK) rather Kenyon shoot it than me?" He will take his frustration out on this game.

You cant say this too often, but I believe the nuggets deserved to win that game last night. They just really had some plain old bad luck... i expect a strong showing against the clippers

YES!!!! I finally found a mistake in Game Graphics

Its BALKMAN, not BALKMANN
Anyways, we should be able to take this one with some decent D as well as other guys besides LK, JR and AI chipping in and going over 100.

to the mods, did we retire the offensive/defensive player of the game thread already?
anyway, like others posted, this is a winnable game.
is karl starting with kleisuck at the 3 or sticking with jones?

I think we kind of did just because it wasn't clear if people actually enjoyed it or not - we can certainly bring it back if there is enough demand for it.

AI for 30 points, and AC for 30 minutes. Loss.

co-sign.
also seemed to promote the whole melo v. iverson thing (their importance to the team, selfishness...etc), which we don't want to do.
