Nuggets Interested In Starbury?
Via Hoopshype. I like the idea but what would Denver be looking to deal? Marbury has came into camp in the best shape of his life and turned alot of heads in camp but unfortunatley the Knicks are in a rebuilding move. Steph will be either bought out or traded. How would you guys feel about adding Steph into the mix..The Nuggets are a very talented team but seem to be a peice or two away from contention. With a win now mentality, i would be really interested in seeing what a motivated Steph could bring to this ball club.

Yeah, if there is anyone I can count on to give Marbs support, its gotta be Starbury1. - Anotha Knicks Fan

guh i hope not.
he'd be better off joining boston if he wants a ring, or goldenstate if he wants some game time.

Re: Nuggets Interested In Starbury?
I can't see how a deal can be made. The only way I'd do it is if we got rid of a big contract in K-mart, which really weakens our team. If we did that, we are clearly rebuilding, because there is no way Steph will work well with AI and Melo.
I don't like the idea of trading AI, who's clearly more valuable by far. If we were dealing him, I'd demand Lee, who probably would refuse to play in Denver, or a first.
Steph is still a talented player, and probably the most talented player on that team, but I don't think anything can get done here.

Man I hope not...
We're trying to build something here... for the first 2.5 games so far, it looks like guys are genuinely competing, to win a ball game, guys play with energy on the defensive end. We don't need a player with prima donna attitude giving 70% on both ends... he's gonna be a cancer.
Talented but his attitude is poisonous. Stay away.

No thanks, No thanks, No thanks. Especially not trading for him. For once, I see this team really competing out there, showing some heart. The last thing we need to do is bring in a cat like Marbury.

Only way he is brought in is if he is bought out and comes in on a vet min deal. Otherwise its not happening.

"I'd like to get into it and find out as soon as possible," Walsh said before leaving with D'Antoni. "It's not fair to anybody really. [We have] to find out where can this go, and then we can make a decision."
If Marbury is put on waivers soon after tonight's Garden match vs. Milwaukee, he would clear in two days and then be able to sign with another team for the veteran's minimum of $1.2 million.
Denver and Miami, two sources said, have interest. The new salary Marbury signs for would be deducted from the money they owe him: $21.9 million.

Re: Nuggets Interested In Starbury?
after thinking about it again...
Obviously he has basketball skill, great basketball skill. He's shown earlier in his career that he's a 20ppg 8apg player (until he was told by Larry Brown and other coaches to basically "score less, because that will somehow make his crappy team better")..
The guy should be one of the best point guards in the league, at least top 3 just behind Deron Williams and Chris Paul. The guy has talent as both a scorer and distributor and has the tools to become a very good defender at the point guard position. He should be a better version of what Chauncey Billups is right now.
hmm...

^Only thing is Starbury plays for himself and not for the team.
That is why he doesn't have a sense of purpose playing the game, that's why he gets bored playing the game, and that's why he's not right there with them when he could easily have been.

Re: Nuggets Interested In Starbury?
he came in the best shape of his life. he was cool with taking a smaller role on the knicks. like artest he is trying to change his image but i still wouldnt do it. we need another rebounder not another small pg. it would be great for a video game but i think the nuggets need to advance out of the first round. i dont know if marbury guarantees that. If Kleiza starts hitting his shots and the nuiggets do a better job on the boards they will be fine. they held the mighty Lakers to 36% the other night. so they are defending well. marbury cant defend.
Thats why Im easy easy like Sunday morning.
