Key Matchup:
ImageImage
Melo showed nice passing in his first game but couldn't find his shot until the last minutes. Will the passing continue, can he find his rhythm. Perhaps most importantly, can he keep Maggette out of the paint and off the foul line?

Last Meeting: April 10, 2008
114-105 Denver victory. Huge game with playoff implications that Denver pulled out.
Melo & Iverson combined for 58 points on 24/41 shooting.
Smith poured in 24 off the bench on 7/12 shooting.
Davis tallied a triple double with 20/10/11

Denver: 1-2
Iverson's been traded for Billups & Mcdyess. However Billups will likely miss this game and make his debut in Denver against Dallas on Friday.
Kmart strained his left hamstring against the Lakers, but should be good to go.
Atkins is out until the second or third week of the season after undergoing knee surgery.
Hunter's out with continued knee issues.

Keys to winning:
Finding a rhythm as a team quickly.
Rebounding - if there's one team they should accell against, this is it. Nene/Kmart/Melo can't be allowing so many second chance points.

Last (will be) 5 Games:
L Lakers
W Clippers
L Utah

Golden State: 1-3
Monta Ellis is injured & suspended for crashing his scooter and lying to the team.

Last (will be) 5 Games:
L Memphis
W New Jersey
L Toronto
L New Orleans

Hopefully Melo can pass the ball well along with scoring. If we can move the ball around like we did for 3.5 quarters vs the Lakers and do it for 4 then we will get a win. We must also keep up the defensive intensity that we have had for much of the first three games. GO NUGGETS!

Big game.
Need Iverson, Melo to get into offensive game and score some points.
It will be tough keeping Maggette out of paint, but hopefully Melo can do it.
Nene, Kenyon, Andersen gotta hit those offensive boards and rebound on the defensive end.

He's always like that before the game.

No contract extension.
Slashing payroll left and right.
13 season vet/all-star - no longer a captain
JR gets contract extension and has been just as effective as AI off the bench this season
Goes from averaging 19 shots a game in 42 minutes to 10 shots a game in 30 minutes.
Denver going no-where (and "they" say its his fault)
Everybody saying you're old and washed up

Me thinks the brother IS unhappy with the trade that IS coming.

^^^That is the sad part to all of this. I really believe that this thing could have worked if done properly. We needed a coach that would have forced Iverson and Melo to learn how to play and feed off of one another's games. Even in the Lakers game, it was quite clear that this isn't going to be happening anytime soon. If we do trade Iverson, I hope we send him somewhere that he still has a legit chance at winning his ring.

If the trade is done, chances of Billups playing on Wednesday night?

You guys are some eerie bastards with the AI/Chauncey talk.

I would guess that Chauncey doesn't play in this one, but who knows. I do know that I have tickets to Friday's game - that should be sweet.

If he plays Wednesday I bet it will be in a backup role for his first game, kinda like AI did in his first game with the Nuggets.

I'm thinking Chauncey should definitely be ready to go by Wednesday, unless the McDyess situation causes some sort of a snag.
I wouldn't be surprised if he came off the bench his first game like AI did, but that was sort of a different situation. AI literally got to the Pepsi Center for the first time a half hour before the game started. He barely had time to even meet his new teammates, let alone practice with them. I don't see any reason we can't get Chauncey here by tomorrow and at least get in one practice session with him.

Either way, I'll be in attendance Friday night as well. Should be exciting.

I think he is going to help give this team an Identity, which is something we haven't had in a while.

I would hope they can get everything sorted out to where billups is able to participate against the warriors. But even if they do I doubt he starts for a game or maybe 2.
