Ill assume that means we are keeping Dice. While I liked Howards role, Dice fills it much better.

Yeah this is good news. I like Juwan, and I still think he can contribute at the end of someone rotation, but Dice feels the backup PF role much better, and this kinda proves we are keeping him.

Sounds like McDyess is going to be bought out.
If that's the case, I expect Howard to be resigned very soon. Trading 1 for 3, someone had to be cut, Howard just had the non-guaranteed contract.

There was talk the Nuggets might buy out the remainder of McDyess' contract and he could eventually return to the Pistons, but Rex Chapman, Denver's vice president of player personnel, said McDyess would stay with the team. It would mark McDyess' third tenure with the Nuggets.
Rocky Mountain News.

finally get some depth at the frontcourt.

i would have liked to keep howard anyway.

from the first couple games & preseason it seemed like he was a very positive influence on the team. good cheerleader and veteran big.

^Agree... if McDyess doesn't want to play for us, screw him. Resign Howard... he plays dirty and is a good influence in our locker room I agree.

That foul on Bynum, noone does that besides him. It's going to bring intensity to the defensive approach of this team.

Juwan had a non-guarenteed deal, so they didn't have to buy him out, they just waived him. They had to cut someone, in order to make the deal work (we would have 16 players on the team) and since Juwan was the only non-guarenteed deal, he made the most sense.

If dice is bought out, as expected, then Juwan will be resigned.

I know this a business, but the business of cutting talented guys that can contribute to the team is going to come back to haunt the F.O. in the sense of building committment to the team - I would say keep Howard and let someone else go who maybe hasn't bonded with the team. The question is who?

has too much remaining on his contract, bad knees, and won't accept a buyout.

Return to Denver Nuggets
