How about trading 1st/Chucker/Hunter for Battie/JJ Redick?
Thoughts? Works on trade checker.....

Easy no. That increases salary, something Stan won't do (unless its a really good deal). JJ sucks, Battie could provide some depth.. but a 1st for that? Plus Denver is paying more next year in salary too (unless they both have team options?).
Pretty bad deal for Denver in my opinion.

Re: Orlando looking for a PG?
Well, I think Redick would provide depth at the 2 guard, which we need....and we know he can shoot the rock. Battie is a solid backup big man, i'd much rather have him than Hunter. Both have one year left on their deals, too.
I would have thrown in a 2nd, not a first, but I'm not sure Orlando would make a trade like that for two career backups without having something else thrown in. Leaves Howard and Hunter as their only bigs, and he's coming off knee surgery.....had to sweeten the deal. Would be a much better deal for us if we could keep our two firsts and only give up a 2nd rounder. Then we could draft a young PG and give him a year or so behind Chauncey....
Can you see this lineup? Billup/AC, JR Smith/Redick/Weems, Melo/Kleiza/Balkman, Kmart/Anderson/Balkman, Nene/Battie/Samb. Sounds pretty good to me, especially if we still have a first rounder next year.
Thx for responding!

Don't really like it personally. I hate trading away all our picks and this trade just doesn't do enough for us to justify that. Redick probably wouldn't even get much time behind all-star stud dahntay jones anyways. Battie is ok but nothing special. And i dont really see Orlando doing it, Hunter is not worth anything on the court at this point. His career is over. New Orleans turned him down because he failed a medical before we got him, now we have him and he cant play and retirement is looking more and more likely.

Even with a 2nd, I still call it bad for Denver.
Unless he improves, JJ hasn't been able to shoot this year and won't get playing time. Karl won't play him. And Stan wants to get under the lux tax. This deal adds 800k salary this year and about 4 million next year (Atkins can be waived). Battie doesn't bring enough to tie up even more salary in my opinion.
