Nuggets fans: Who's your best player?

Post#1 » by TMU » Wed Dec 3, 2008 4:03 pm

Both players are balling. Billups is running the offense like he should and Melo is showing that he, too, can be all-around player. So who's your best player on the Nuggets? Is it Carmelo or Chauncey?

Best at what though?

Defensively: I would go with Kmart, but Billups and Nene have been doing there job as well. Melo has even been playing decent defense.

Offensively: Melo probably, but Billups can get his own shot and he has been shooting great in the last 3 games, Melo's shot has been absent, but it has also picked up in the past few games. Nene doesn't get enough touches to give him the nod, but he does do very well with the touches he does get, he leads the league in FG%.

Who could we least afford to lose for a long stretch? I think Nene because we are already a very thin team upfront, but the main/only reserve sub we have has been playing well for us when healthy.

Overall best at the moment. I would have to say Nene or Billups over Melo. Could and will my opinion change throughout the season? Several times.

It's a simple question. Who would you say is your best player on the team, the one player you cannot lose, the one player who represents the franchise?

If the question is posed that way, then my answer would be Nene because he is the guy we can least afford to lose for an extended period of time because of the depth chart behind him. During our games when he has been in foul trouble and gone to the bench for an extended period of time, our production has dropped off quite a bit.

Gotta go with 'Melo here, even though I love what Chauncey brings.

Interestingly - thinking about this now - this is probably the first time in many many years where I could not give you a clear cut easy answer to this question.....and not so coincidentally, this is also the best Nuggets team we have seen in many many years.

I agree, and what makes it even more enjoyable is that you can't really fault anyone for who they would pick because almost everyone on the team that would be a logical/realistic choice to the question is contributing in a positive way. This is the most entertaining Nuggets team that we have seen in a long, long time.

Oh yeah, Welcome aboard

the franchise representing player is clearly melo. he was the #3 pick, he has the max contract, he has the weight on his shoulders to perform night in night out, he should be with the franchise for a long time.

however who's been the best player this year....i really can't decide, i really don't care...and that's a great thing imho.

Melo wants to win. Up until now, how he was shown to achieve the win was not effective enough. Chauncey definitely sees that Melo is willing to do what it takes to win gold, aka championship rights.

I look at Melo as the student, and when he is taught right he is going to shine better than a lot of players. Chauncey has great skill and direction, but Melo's got the drive that will take that skill to a whole notha' level.

We'll see, because Chauncey's whole job is to make other players better so of course Melo is going to be the best player.

I like the idea of letting AC be the best player. Then everyone else can just go about the game and not worry about it so much.

nuggets are deep, but the answer shouldnt be anything other than Billups. he's got the whole team playing defense, even Melo. this guy was a godsend to a inconsistent, dysfunctional team.
