I don't want to do any more work and this board is lacking haha so i thought i'd start this up. Any trade ideas involving LK and getting a big in return? thoughts on dalembert? williams? I personally want okafor with the TPE next season but i don't know if that works.. We clearly need someone pretty soon.

Kleiza value around the league seems to be dipping, im personally mad we didn't cash in on him last year when his trade value were at it's peak.

I wouldn't want dalembert anywhere near this team, his contract is too big and he has zero scoring moves in the post and all he is a shot blocker which we got one like him in chris andersen who's much cheaper and is a comparable or better shot blocker with a little scoring.

Sean williams to me is a gamble, he didn't get any playing time in jersey so i don't know how he would do with us but i'll rather have a veteran big who we can rely on though.

I doubt the front office is going to use the TPE, their trying to get under the tax so i think were only doing little moves to get under the cap so i doubt we'll use it this year.

I like the idea of Dalembert but his contract is too high and too long. I can't see anything working out with them.
I also like Sean Williams. He's young, a good rebounder and good shot blocker, but he supposedly has attitude/character issues.

Hell no to Brian Cook though. He's awful and Karl would never play him anyway.

I agree about Sean Williams. Young, athletic big but those character issues definitely would not fly with Karl. I still think its worth a shot.

Jamaal Magloire comes to mind, but I wanna say he has a huge contract also. Maybe guys like Hilton Armstrong or Stromile Swift could be had. And maybe I'm the only one, but I kinda miss Reggie "Junk-grabbin" Evans...

I'm all for Mutombo in a nugget jersey. If you follow some of the other Nugget forums they've been talking about John Salmons for a long time which came from an article I wrote at last years trade deadline. If I was the Nuggets I'd be looking to deal with the Kings. The Nugget front court is actually really successful they just need to make sure they have enough depth at the 4 and 5.

With the current luxury tax situation I'm not sure they'd sign Mutombo. The Nuggets haven't used a first round DP in awhile. Might as well trade one along with expiring deals. Atkins, Hunter, first rounder for Sheldon Williams and John Salmons. Then you still have Kleiza to deal.

You actually think the Kings would give away Salmons like that? They could get better, and while that would still leave LK to be traded, wouldn't be many options given his salary.

Personally I think expiring deals over the next year or two are going to be valuable. The Kings have K-Mart2 at the shooting guard and are clearly rebuilding with the Artest trade. I do think the Kings want expiring deals, youth, and or draft picks. The Nuggets can offer them that.

As for Kleiza. I'd put Ty Thomas in the mix. I also could see Sean Williams and Jarvis Hayes coming back from New Jersey BUT both those deals would have to be done after the first of the year (because they include Samb and Weems).

Channing Frye.

Chucky for Kwame Brown (DET)

Chucky/Hunter/pick for Battie (ORL)

Kleiza for Maxiel (DET) straight up

Hunter/2nd for Joe Smith?

Kleiza/pick for Brandan Wright? (I like this one)

Chucky/Hunter/1st for Pryzbilla?

Hunter/pick or Chucky/ pick for Channing Frye?

Kleiza and Chucky for Collison

Mikki Moore would be an good fit from the Kings.

Moore, Miller, Salmons and all the vets are likely on the table from the Kings. I'd suspect they let Jackson expire and doubt they have any takers Thomas. Its pretty clear the Kings are going in a rebuilding direction.

However I believe we are 2nd overall in the conference right now. The Nuggets have Steven Hunter, Chucky Atkins, Linas Kleiza, Cheick Samb, Sonny Weems, and Dps to work with in trades. Front court depth is important, but you as fans and the front office should be thinking how does a potiental trade put the Nuggets into serious contention. How does this improve the team's chances against the Lakers, Hornets, Spurs, Jazz, and Rockets?

Just going out and getting Sean Williams or Mikki Moore is not enough. The front office has to get a piece plus front court depth. One previous example is trading for Salmons and Williams and then trading Kleiza, Samb, and Weems in another deal.

However other options are likely on the table. One would be doing a deal with the Wolves for Mike Miller and a big (like a Craig Smith) for expiring deals (plus Kleiza). Minnesota is clearly in rebuild mode as well so their reasons for unloading Miller would be somewhat like Sacramento's for trading away vets like Miller and Salmons.

Atkins, Hunter, Weems, and Kleiza works for Mike Miller and Craig Smith.

After the first of the year the Nuggets could also look to deal with the Bulls. Ben Gordon and Tyrus Thomas could be available.

Another option could be Hunter and Atkins for Stevenson and Songaila from the Wizards in a pure financial move.

Another deal might be Joe Smith for Sonny Weems and Steven Hunter. Then turn around and deal Kleiza and Atkins for a wing.

Lots of options out there IMO.

They wouldn't resign Juwan Howard... the only trades they will make are trades that will get them below the luxury tax threshold. They aren't wanting to compete...they are wanting to be cheap. It's too bad because they are a really good team. Atkins and Hunter don't have any value truthfully and Kleiza can fetch us something, but because of his small salary, we can't dump $1 million extra on someone and make a trade so we can be luxury tax free....weeeeeee.... I can't wait for that!!!! that's almost like competing for a championship!!!!

^^^^ Melo didn't specifically say that was the trade, he said that getting a backup big would benefit the team. Nene has had discussions with Karl about the same thing, and Karl has even acknowledged it. The denver post had an article about the front office being interested in a few bigs around the league (Cook, Williams, and Dalembert) were mentioned in the article as possibilities.
