There was no Nugget Christmas win... but a Portland Christmas loss would do just fine :D

Now we have to extend the lead and get this win. I'd be bummed if we lose this one, Melo or no Melo.

Weakest. Game thread. Ever.

But hey, whatever works. Ugly as it was, I'll take any win with Melo on the sidelines. Plus a Balkman sighting?

i was scared watching that 3 pg lineup...but man, chucky came through tonight.
JR was a monster. if we ever get a coach that has complete faith in JR, he'll become an all star.
right now JR is so scared of making a mistake that i feel he's not settled enough. anyways, tonight he shot well. we def need more of that. he stepped up bigtime.

i was happy not to see K-Mart not take jumpers.
even kleiza stepped up when it counted.

AC though...man, it's sad, but dude just doesn't have what it takes when it counts IMO.
butter fingers.

^I think J.R. has grown so accustomed being pulled back to the bench that his "fear" is gone. But replacing him with Chucky Atkins for defensive purposes? Are you kidding me Karl? That's just hatred.

I shudder everytime Chucky entered the game in the fourth. He should play the first three quarters but never allowed to play in the final one, because he's just a mediocre defensive player.

^ Chucky's 4th quarter efforts was the reason we somehow won this game.

he should be the backup PG... AC is just useless. He gets torched on D, can't shoot, and when he tries to do something, it will probably be a turnover.

but yeah, GK was doing his typical thing in pulling JR out for AC to have 3 PGs on DEFENSE.

the sooner we get rid of Karl and Carter the better off we'll be.
i could live with LK on the team of we could get rid of GK & AC

That's what I'm saying.

I always find it hilarious that whenever Karl substitutes AC in for JR at the end of game, Hastings has to justify it to people by saying he is subbing defense for offense. Which is what he thinks he's doing....but in reality, JR is no worse than AC on D, and at least doesn't give up 6 inches on whoever he guards.

It was funny that J.R. hit the three to put us ahead, and the very next play when Karl put AC in for him for the "defense"....Dre posted his bitch ass up and scored on him easily.

I would like to see Chucky get some more minutes....but if it's going to come with this 3 PG lineup bull, **** that. That makes absolutely no sense to me at all; I don't know how he can possibly justify it either. He said he wanted Atkins in there for hustle/energy/shooting....which is fine, but why does AC also need to be in there? Billups can bring the ball up/run the offense(which AC can't do anyway), and Atkins could also do that if needed. So why in **** hell does AC also need to be in? Even if he wants to say defense, he has Jones and Balkman on the bench. Ok I'm done thinking about this now, it's only pissing me off and making my head hurt trying to comprehend his dumbass decisions.

GK's situation is a lose/lose/lose situation. If we get bounced in the first round or sooner, he is gone, but no fan of the team wants to see us get bounced early again at least I don't. If we get past the first round he will be back and the stupid rotations will continue to happen. Carter recently said that he wants to retire with Denver, and MHizzle said that Stan loves AC, which is the final loss in the lose/lose/lose situation.

It was a nice comeback that we had for the win tonight, but why were we even in that position to begin with. Besides Dre they didn't really have anyone doing anything special against us. We just coasted and then poured it on at the end similar to what we did most of last year.

Honestly, I still prefer AC over Atkins... whatever that purpose is for, defense or even offense.

Atkins has not produced anything offensively for us this year. Every open three he takes, I never see him make, at least as a Nugget. Open shot? Nothing. The only asset I see is his passing and pick and roll with Nene at times, he can make quite crisp passes. Defensively? Forget it, he's useless! I thought I saw somewhere he ranks the worst out of ALL NBA players in defensive efficiency or something.

At least AC hustles and he plays his man real physical on defense. And give him an open shot, he would knock it down too, he'd even knock down some threes.

Man J.R. is not bad defensively, at least if you compare him to them, but if you want to replace him, by all means, replace him with AC but not Atkins!!!! That's atrocious!

won't happen.

.

atkins is a better backup pg. did you not watch that game, snake? he hit a number of open shots for us. we need someone on the court with our bench to slow it down, run an offense and be in control....otherwise it turns into turnover city sloppy basketball in about 30 seconds. atkins is a far better decision maker and won't make the dumb passes AC does on a regular basis.

Return to Denver Nuggets
