Jan 10 F Josh Howard re-aggravated his left wrist Friday night, leaving the game against the Suns with 9:43 with an apparent sprain. X-rays were negative, but he did not seem encouraged about his chances of playing Sunday at Sacramento. Howard missed two games earlier this season when he sprained the same wrist. He also missed 11 games with a sprained left ankle. Howard seemed to be regaining his form in the last several games, but now must deal with another setback. "Unfortunately, we're on a road trip so we won't be able to get back home for our X-ray machine, but we'll see how it goes," Howard said. "Of course it hurts like hell. I'll have to keep it up above my heart so it won't hurt as much. "But, got to keep moving, got to keep these guys going. It was a tough loss for us. I wish I could have stayed out there."
Approached for a comment after Monday’s practice, Smith said, "I don’t do interviews."
hoping that using Balkman at small forward could get him extra time. Balkman said he's not worried by his sporadic time, saying he'll "root my teammates on" when not playing.
