I doubt Jones plays, based on what the paper said. Which is good because more Balkman is something I'm definitely for.

Yeah, Jones is out and won't play in this game.
Anyway, Nuggets will have revenge on their minds after that season opener loss in Utah. Utah will be on a back to back after playing Cleveland at home. They are like 1-6 on back to back.

Big game, Nuggets need to pull this one out at home. Jazz are awful on the road, as well as the second night of b2b, but it still won't be easy. Especially without Melo. Need Klieza to drop another 40 on 'em.

Yeah, and the pictures of the Jazz players are hilarious.

Based on the history of this rivalry, you never know when some random Jazz player is going to get hot and shoot us out of the gym. We have to play consistent defense and we have to close out on shooters around the perimeter.

They have some shooters, which is really the only thing that worries me about teams anymore(unless they happen to have some beastly big man like Dwight or Yao). We simply don't know how to defend the three ball.

Regardless, this is definitely a game we should win...as everything is in our favor. Rest, revenge, it being a divisional game, and them being on a b2b(they got the Cavs on Saturday). We may come out flat and get down a little early, as they'll have all the energy. But hopefully we'll shake off the rest quickly and the Jazz will start to tire as the game goes along.

Their transition defense is horrid from what I've seen....so we should really try to run them out of the gym. Kleiza needs to remember all the things he did in that game about a year ago, and expose the Jazz in the same way this time around(leaking out, get uncontested dunk after uncontested dunk).

Thinking about it now....having Jones for this game could have actually been beneficial. He does a decent job on good PGs during short stretches...and the change of pace he provides with his in your face, 30 feet from the basket type of defense would be nice on Williams. Chauncey is a good defender as well, but a different type of defender. He doesn't have quite the lateral quickness as Jones these days. It's definitely not a huge loss though.

The Nuggets generally do find a way to lose to the Jazz. Hopefully this time is not one of them. The other thing that drives me crazy is getting killed on the defensive glass. If Millsap grabs offensive board after offensive board, I'll punch myself in the junk.

come to think of it.....jones is still in the graphics.....

But aside from him being out I think Nene will have to guard Milsap and Kenyon on Okur. I just see Nene having trouble if Okur's shooting hand gets hot. Whereas I see Nene beating Milsap on offensive rebounds.

J.R. just needs to not get too cocky with the 3 ball, same with C Bills. I think it's a huge advantage to have Kirilenko not playing and Andersen playing, because Kirilenko usually has a big blocks game against us.

I worry about AC on Deron. That is really my only worry on this one (other than the potential Milsap O Rebs)

Looks like Jones will play Sunday.

The freak right shoulder injury suffered by Nuggets guard Dahntay Jones in pregame warmups Tuesday might ultimately be a non-issue.

Jones missed the game Tuesday against Sacramento, but the Nuggets didn’t need their defensive stopper in a 118-99 rout of the Kings. Now the Nuggets seem optimistic Jones will return from the first-degree separation Sunday for the Northwest Division showdown against the Utah Jazz at the Pepsi Center.

"I think Dahntay’s going to try to play on Sunday," Nuggets coach George Karl said. "I think he’s going to try to play."

Jones was to have a follow-up exam Friday with Dr. Steve Traina and also performed agility drills with strength and conditioning coach Steve Hess.

While Jones initially claimed he wouldn’t miss more than the Kings game, the Nuggets believed the injury could linger a few weeks.

Jones sustained the injury after colliding with a player during the warm-up session but declined to mention which player. Renaldo Balkman started in place of Jones, as Karl elected to keep offensive-minded Linas Kleiza on the bench for better balance.

Asked if Jones would start Sunday, if available, Karl said: "Probably."

Jazz suck. Easy win. 4.5 game lead on them after this one.

You should be careful insulting players like Billups when your team still has Boozer the faker/ hurt vagina costing him full seasons, and Andrei I cry at the drop of the hat Kirilenko on their payroll.

Jazz had a tough loss yesterday against Cavs... it should tire them mentally and physically.

If we can open the game off to a fast start, we should win. Just run them out of the gym.

For being so homophobic you certainly like talking about scrotums.

I think the Nuggs will take this one, make sure Okur doesn't go off and contain Millsap. I think we take this 100-92.

.

The Jazz were forced to stay overnight in Salt Lake City due to issues with their charter jet on Saturday.

They were scheduled to leave for Denver on Sunday morning.

i will be thoroughly disappointed if we lose this game.
