Unlikely to deal, according to GK - an MHizzle rant

Per Wiretap, Karl says a deal is very unlikely. Here's what he had to say:

"I don’t even think I’m taking my cell phone on this five days (off during the all-star break) — that’s how much I probably think there’s not going to be a phone call," said Karl.

Now, for starters, I didn't expect them to make any deals at the deadline, I would be surprised if they did. I just don't understand why, again, George Karl feels the need to open his mouth like this. It's not like we're the Lakers, cruising to first place in the West, and even they wouldn't have a coach that would say something like this. If there's no way we deal, then fine, but it screams of a team that has no aspirations to be truly elite to be pumping our fists in elation and dry humping each other over a 2nd or 3rd place finish in the West, and realistically in nobody's title picture. It's the same reason I can see this team possibly getting out of the first round, then getting absolutely throttled by a non-Lakers 2nd round opponent. Our bar is set so **** low. Just do better than last year, that's all anybody seems to care about. At least in public, can we pretend we're always working to be at the top? Jesus.

Why does he open his mouth? Because, the player most likely to be traded would be LK. His boy. He doesn't want his boy traded. Which could be a stupid move by Denver, if LK tries to get the money his agent mentioned or goes to Europe. LK doesn't seem like he is consistent with his shot either. Best to try and move him now, unless his value has really dropped around the league.

I just hope LK is traded, and when poor George freaks out, the FO can tell him, "Sorry, we tried calling, but you didn't have your phone on you." LOL

This could just be posturing in an attempt to improve our bargaining position -- acting like we don't need to make a deal, or at least don't think that we do -- but that might be giving Karl too much credit.

this is why we are not going to win the NBA championship because karl wont trade the suckky players like Kleiza and AC.

Azubuike
Raja Bell
Anthony Parker (I want a pick as well though)

Linas Kleiza could nab them.

I'd say trade Kleiza for a real center or another bruising physical forward like James Posey (I heard Hornets might consider trading him because they have financial trouble) to make us even more physical.

LK for Bell would be great, would make the Nuggets an elite defensive team. Billups/Bell/Melo/Kmart/Nene would be one of the best defensive units in the entire league. Outside of 'Melo, all of those guys are great defenders.

Bell is a complete douche but he can play 'D and can hit open shots.

I would love to have Azubuike. He's young, defends better that LK, and can hit the three point shot with great consistency, something we truly lack. It would be great to have him. I'd trade Linas Kleiza and 1st round draft pick for Azubuike.

I would go for Posey.

Well obviously, but that's never going to happen. Posey could make us a true contender.

DJ is the weak link on this team.

^DJ? Who's that??

Posey would push us over the top... Bell's D has been overrated in the past 2-3 seasons... Suns and Bobcats fans will tell you that.

Bobcats fans love Bell, and don't wanna see him traded, so i'm not so sure they think his D is overrated

yeah i don't think we can get Bell. They essentially traded JRich for him, and i can't see them wanting LK.

Kleiza + Jones for Azubuike though... it'd be good for both teams, but would the FO ever think of it?

I think LK + Hunter and a 2round pick for Anthony Parker would be the best deal if we want to win a championship this year. Cause of his experience from Europe. But for the future would i love to have Az on the team.

AP would make us real contenders, as long as Nene, K and Bird stays healty

Kleiza/Dahntay/Hunter/Pick for Bell works in the trade checker.
Think it's enough for Charlotte to bite?

I hope he's not, cause Karl will play his card against us because of their decision to trade his boy

Who he gonna play in his place? Balkman? Yeah right. And if we get somebody in place for him. There is no certainty that Karl will play him

We should hope for that. Karl will have signed his own pink slip if he pulls a stunt like that.
