Playing Terrible Basketball

The Nuggets in this next home stretch are going to allow (not wanting to use any stronger language) Portland and Utah to take over this division. They did not strengthen the club in any way. Bird is playing too many minutes and fumbling the ball... JR was not smart at the end of the game... they are turning the ball over at a very high rate. They are going to go 0 for 3 in the next 3 home games and won't have a division lead anymore. Maybe it was smart not using the TPE or anything because this team in 1 and done again, hell, even Chauncey's not playing so "smart" right now... Losing to Chicago by 19 and Milwaukee just isn't acceptable...especially playing as stupid and with absolutely no defense. Boston without KG is going to kill them and the Lakers are going to push them around like the school girls we are... Atlanta will probably whoop us. The Nuggets are playing weak and soft and frankly it's embarrassing. Don't give me...it's a long end of the road trip and and and... whatever, they needed these games, you don't throw away games!!!! They win these 2 games...they have some cushion for the Celtics and Lakers...now they have to come up with a miracle and win 2 games...and they way they are playing...they should just forfeit right now...it's going to be another 2 games like the New Jersey game was.... 40 plus point loses. They got a great return on the Chauncey trade, but it's not enough and it's going to bite them right now when they don't have the horses to finish their start. Being a Nugget fan sucks sometimes...there is a small glimmer of hope only to be dashed away by reality... face it Nugget fans we are never going to win a championship...just not going to happen

Dumb. lol it's funny when Nuggets lose two games in a row, which they should have won, everyone turns on them. It's pretty sad. I'm not making any excuses, but the Nuggets are pretty beat up. Since the 'season' is over according to you, you should just stop watching and stop posting.
I don't think anyone expected the Nuggets to win a championship, but we do expect to make it deeper in the playoffs.

Eh, I kinda see where you're coming from. I guess we can just declare this the official bitch and moan thread.
I'm pissed that the FO doesn't have the courage to follow through on the solid moves they've made. It's so obvious this team doesn't have enough. We are basically playing with 3 bigs, all who are natural power forwards, and no decent 2 guard.

In my opinion, if you are in the top 4 of your conference, you should be a title contender. Boston wins on the road against Phoenix by 20 without KG, when is the last time the Nuggets have won in Phoenix. Just because we haven't won or competed for a championship, Nugget fans should want less??? Dumb? It's dumb to be mad you want your team to win and compete against bad teams? Come on, they were in the Chicago game and choked, and same thing with today's game. Both games had no defense like last year's team. If they continue to play this bad basketball, (beat up or not), they won't beat anyone in the playoffs. They didn't play a good 1st half against Phily and if Dre' doesn't get hurt, they might be on a 3 game losing streak. 24 turnovers against Milwaukee, 18 aturnovers against Chicago, and 19 turnovers against Phily. However you want to slice it, it's not good basketball.
It's been a consistent theme since the All-star break.

Yeah... The way I see it, you should either go all in, or rebuild. I'd have more fun watching young players develop than a team play well and continue to fail in the playoffs.

True, but I also hate seeing the kind of build up we've had over the last few years just to fall into complete mediocrity. At least we have a few young players still developing on this team.
If the result is the same, this will be true. If this team goes to the finals, maybe not as much.

Yeah but if we are going to contend, let's contend. The FO knows our weaknesses, but wants to see if they can get by without spending extra money. I know the economy sucks, but if you want to compete with Lakers and Boston, you're going to have to spend. There's no way around it.

So many teams that have no chance at the playoffs (ie Washington) wanted to get under the cap...if Denver offers their TPE for Butler... who knows..maybe they have to offer a draft pick or do a 2nd trade for Etan Thomas or something...yes I know it hurts your cap and flexibility, but if you want to get rid of something after the season...it's not like you don't have assets to do so. They traded Camby to clear cap...they could have done the same thing after the season again. Yes, I know Kroenke paid for Iverson and it didn't turn out... but you don't "go for it" now because of money and you are the only guy making money in this economy...(Wal-mart stock is up)... If you aren't an owner in the business to win championships, fine, just don't expect alot of people to come and view your product. I am not saying even if they did do something they would win a championship, but don't you owe it to yourself and your team to try to win one...you know they didn't have enough going into the deadline to win more than one series...is anyone really happy with a possible 2nd round exit to the Spurs or Lakers??? to make matter's worse they are playing their worse basketball of the season...sloppy and lazy. Does anyone think they could beat Utah, Houston, Dallas, or New Orleans in a playoff series the way they have played the last 3 games??? There is no way.

Bucks fan here. You guys are going to be fine. You just need to get healthy for the playoffs and you're probably a favorite to make it to the WC Finals. I'd be surprised if you're one and done. Sky's not falling, you just had a tough road trip.
Good luck on Nene's knee.

. Renaldo Balkman started for Kenyon Martin and scored 10 points in 17 minutes. "I probably should have had the courage to play him a little bit more," Nuggets coach George Karl said.
Idiot!

Its three games, two of them played without our starting PF. Its the tail end of an 8 game road trip.
Yeah it sucks we dropped the last two, but did anyone really expect us to go 8-0 or 7-1 on this strech? If you told me going into the road trip that we would go 5-3, i woulda been cool with that, and I still am.
No team plays great basketball everynight, not even the lakers or celtics. Sure they didn't play their best ball the past few games, but i don't think its quite time to panic. If they go 0-3 on their home stand (as you suggest they will) maybe then you can start panicing. As it is, a tired team dropped two winnable games on the road, happens all the time, and doesn't concern me in the least.

I'm with you, man. I was so irate with the Chicago game. I didn't even watch the Bucks game. I know that Stein's gonna have a ball making this weeks power rankings. At least, if we lost in the playoffs this year we can look forward to finally watching George Karl walk out of the door forever.

I'm sure part of it has to do with being away from home for 20+ days. That's just tough, especially when everyone is a little banged up. Sucks we have to come home for a tough ass stretch, but we should be fine in the end.

Yes, I know Nene was out tonight and that makes things more difficult and losing Kenyon for the Bucks game makes it more difficult, but that was/has been my entire point with the TPE and making a trade. We have been extremely fortunate so far that Nene or Kenyon haven't been out for extended periods of time. Honestly, they came out of the all star break very soft and are not committing to defense or doing many of the things that had them at 36-17. We have a one game lead on Portland now, and things aren't looking up. It was a very bad basketball decision to keep the TPE and worry about the luxury tax. They could have made some deals that would have made losing Nene and or Kenyon easier.....However, you don't lose by 38 points at home because one person is out... I didn't watch the game tonight and had other plans because I knew it was going to be a massacre... they aren't playing as a team anymore. Yes, Melo is banged up and K-mart and Nene...etc... you have to compete with or without them... you can't lose by 38 to anyone at home. You can't lose a game you had in Milwaukee... Yes, games like New Jersey happen on a road trip... but you get back after it like they did in Miami and Orlando. Defense has been zero and the offense hasn't been good either... It's probably going to get worse before it gets better... Atlanta and the Lakers.. then at Indy, at Det, Portland and at Utah (back to back). They had better learn to D- up hard and start dishing out some punishment back cause this 7 game stretch is going to probably determine if they have the ability to win a 1st round series and keep home court. Nene being out the 3 more games is going to kill... that's why I was so pissed off the other night.... they didn't make a move to save money... and you see how the team has responded. Yes, I know Nene's injury is a "freak" thing... but with this organization, as soon as they think they are OK... things happen. They are in deep deep (expletive) right now.

'Maybe I should have played him more' - .... that is what we will hear in game 2 of the first round
Any coach could have seen they were killing us on the boards, and if we're "tired" and "tired enough for Melo to sit in the 4th" then let's say Balkman for more minutes is a must, not a maybe, because he ain't as tired if he's tired at all....
JR threw up some bad ones but, because Chauncey missed so did he
JR and Petro actually looked decent together
The first bench rotation coul dhave been JR / Chauncey / Balkman / Birdman / Petro
And you got enough energy to rebound, and enough shooting to at least hold within 15 points of the Celtics
then again when you don't box out it doesn't matter how much energy you have, the opponent all ready has position and you gotta run the court one more time
