As a Blazer fan, I've been looking for some info on what happened to Nene's knee. I'm sure there will be more info Monday, but as of now, this is what I've found...
The knock-on-wood Nuggets have yet to lose injury-prone Nene to a prolonged injury this season, but with 45.1 seconds left Sunday, Nene suffered a bruised right knee. He will see Dr. Steve Traina today for an evaluation.
"It doesn't look like anything structural, but it's hard to evaluate when it's so sore," Nuggets athletic trainer Jim Gillen said.
http://www.denverpost.com/sports/ci_11763069I imagine he'll miss some games, but I think it looked a lot worse than it was. I liked the way almost famous put it...

Yeah, like during the season opener when he tore his ACL and meniscus. Or when he had cancer.. What a baby. Wah wah.
Idiot.

Im really sure he just bruised it really bad. Watching it, was much different than Bynum injury. He just bumped it above the knee band. Jefferson came out the game too

An MRI today confirmed the team's original diagnosis of a bone bruise. The MRI did not reveal any structural issues.
Nene is listed as day-to-day moving forward.

How about missing like half a season for a thumb injury that was only suppose to take 3 weeks? Even the FO thought Nene was milking the cancer thing after awhile.
Anyway, looks like I was right. Nothing more than a bone bruise.

very thankful it wasnt anything more, it probably would have been over for this team if he had injured his already surgically repaired knee again. hopefully he wont be out too long, bone bruises seem like they can go either way. its really starting to become obvious that we needed to add another big besides uh...johan petro, but we can keep pretending that kleiza and balkman can fill the role, good job front office!

Bone bruises can be a pesky injury Carlos Boozer has missed 44 games after he was initially diagnosed with a bruised knee/quad.

Yeah but Carlos Boozer is softer than tissue paper.

When you're a guy that's had as many freak injuries as Nene, you probably take every precaution, even only slightly warranted precautions. They know if he's salvagable they're going to take him out on a stretcher if they have to. I don't blame them, I don't blame him.
As long as he plays like a beast on the court he can tiptoe in the tunnels all he wants.

Boozer had a healthy run of two seasons until his last injury. Before this injury, he had the other bad one which he reaggrevated the following season, but it's not like he's had a TON of injuries, just two real bad ones. Nene is no less injury prone than Boozer.

http://www.denverpost.com/nuggets/ci_11792707Looks like he might play tomorrow night.
And almost: He tore a ligament in his thumb. He was scheduled to miss a month and missed 5 weeks, came back and then was diagnosed with cancer as he was rounding into shape. I dont remember anyone getting on him for missing time due to Chemotherapy......
That said, Nene has not been exactly a warrior when it comes to pain. If he had Melo's myriad of injuries, he would have missed 70% of the season, and would still be recovering from the broken hand.

Thats because for a big man, you have to be conditioned well
Back then for a while he wasnt. This year he lost weight and he is. Thats why he been playing majority of the season

Nene need´s to work on his foul trouble really fast, this team is missing his lacking of PT and his stats are coming down eighter...
