AK47

First, I'll just say I'm excited that the Nuggets are going to be in the Western Conference Finals. My brain is just hoping the Rockets and Lakers beat up on each other enough that when they meet the Nuggets (of course it will be the lakers) that they might be tired and off their game for the Nuggets running style.

Anyways I was just reading that AK47's name is back on the block (with the warriors being interested). Just by looking at Utah's cap situation I'm not surprised Ak47 is on the block at all. Just to go over Utah's current contracts. Boozer and Okur should be opting out free agents this summer. I think Korver has an opt out but wont use it making him a free agent in 2010. Harpring will be a free agent in 2010. Same with brewer. Millsap is a free agent this summer. The only big contract on the books in the summer of 2010 is AK47.

I was impressed with how hard Salmons worked on Pierce in the playoffs but am getting over the fact that the Nuggets missed the boat in doing a deal with the Kings this year. Now I know the focus this year is on winning and I'm definiately happy about that. But regardless I won't be happy if the Nuggets don't pursue guys like AK47 in the off season.

Camby Trade Exception + Bobcats future first + OKC's 2nd rounder this year plus expiring contact Hunter for AK47.

Other than that you must re-sign the birdman. I'm sure Karl will want AC back.

I still like my idea of bringing in Rasheed Wallace. He says he will retire if he doesn't get 8 million next year. Well I have changed my tune and don't think he will get it. Sources suggest he might sign with the Spurs for the MLE. But I suspect with the Nuggets current success and former teammate Billups on the roster that Wallace might end up in Denver for the MLE.

If the Nuggets can't score Wallace with the MLE then I'd suggest using the MLE to bring in Andre Miller on a 3 year deal and Ime Udoka on a 3 year deal as well. I've liked Udoka as a role player and he is a .375 career 3 point shooter so I think he will spread the floor better than jones. add Miller as a backup PG and then look to sign and trade Kleiza for a big.

you cant combine trade exceptions with other players in a trade. cba doesnt allow it.

he's also one of the worst contracts in the league, a pretty crappy player and would cost the team 30+ million in real money per season.

i should lock this thread.

we're 6-1 in the playoffs with an average margin of victory of 21 points, and theres a thread about kirilenko and the offseason?

Andre Miller? Why? He can't shoot.

You can't combine the TPE and a player, to match salaries.

Can't use the MLE to sign Wallace either. A good portion of that will be used for resigning Birdman. Denver doesn't have his bird right's if I'm not mistaken.

Sorry, not trying to sound negative.

Can you copy and paste the part of the CBA that says that because I've heard that might be the case but can't find it in writing anywhere.

As for the what to do in the off season. Just because you are winning doesn't mean you shouldn't be pondering the future. Ya know forget working out players for that 2nd round pick because we are winning. Common nothing wrong with talking about the draft and free agency.

Hmmm Vladimir Dasic anyone?

Are you kidding me, AK 47, a guy who even prior to the showing KMart has had this year, was considered to be more overpaid then kMart.

AS for Salmons, you can continue to pine over him, although there are several over on the Bulls board that wish they would trade him already. Even those that like him admit that he screws up the flow of the offense looking for his shot when he gets the ball, and complain about his lack of passing. For proof of it, go back a couple of pages in the Bulls board where there are threads begging the guy to pass the ball.

If there's anything we could be talking about wishing the Nuggets had added, it would be a serviceable big who can actually play (ie not Petro).

Wish the Nuggets had a first rounder so they could pick up Johnny Flynn in the draft as an apprentice to Billups and a future running mate with Melo.

I wouldn't mind Patrick Mills or Danny Granger with OKC's pick.

one of the 2 i'm hoping for.

If we're talking trades or not gonna happen ones. How about Kmart? Get a real center with size, move Nene to PF. Make sure Nene works on his jumper in the off-season.

Not really sure who though. There was a wiretap about Samuel Dalembert wanting to be traded? Maybe the 76'ers think Brand could play center with Kmart at PF? Going by stats, Dalembert looks to be a good rebounder. Something this team could use at the center position. Unless he is a Camby rebounder. No idea about his defense and his offense looks not so good. His contract is a year shorter.

How about Andris Biedrins? Put up a double-double. Only 23. Which is why GS won't trade him. His 9 mil flat rate contract for 5 more years, I'd call a good price too. Maybe they decide they don't want him though? No idea why. Figure it would take the TPE and picks if they want to dump salary.

How about Emeka Okafor? Maybe Brown would prefer Kmart at PF instead of Okafor? On the Nuggets him or Nene could take the C spot. Although his contract is much longer, would need filler too. Bell? Expiring and would be a nice asset to have. Vet outside shooter who can hopefully still play some D. Okafor is a bit of an injury concern too, I think.

Grab Chris Kaman with the TPE and picks?

Yeah, not all that good of ideas. But I'd say better they AK47.

Resign AC and Birdman.. They won't cost to much. Also sign Petro.

Let LK and DJ go (I think both are great players but way to inconsistent)

Sign Anthony Parker!!!!

And look into wally szczbiak, how much he want and if CLE want to resign him, or what other teams that might want him. He could replace LK and he is an excellent shooter.

Sign Wilcox or a cheap big with some talent.

Keep Melo, CB, JR, Nene, Kmart and Balk

I don't like the comparisions of AK47 and Kmart. KMart's decline in value is pretty much due to injuries that affected his career. With AK47, to get back to what he was, it is all in his head. Which is why with a change of coaching and styles the guy might very well flourish again.

If we could get Biedrins I'd be all for that. But the league isn't full of those Centers we'd like to pick up. The Nuggets **** up royally (thanks Bickerstaff) and let Mutombo walk a long time ago which screwed the team for about a decade. A young Mutombo aint going to walk through the locker room door. So instead of a guy like Dalembert I'd rather leave Nene at center and bring in a Marvin Williams Jr. or AK47 to play alongside Melo.
