Yao?

Not to spoil our playoffs time, but can't help thinking...

Some Rocket fans suggest trading because he never stays healthy...

Would we do Nene + J.R. Smith + filler (maybe Birdman) for Yao and maybe Von Wafer  ?

C - Yao Ming
PF - Kenyon Martin
SF - Carmelo Anthony
SG - Dahntay Jones
PG - Chauncey Billups

Our interior D would be improved immediately, post scoring, and Yao is a great free throw shooter.

Yao wouldn't re-sign with the Nuggets... and he's not worth trashing our future away for.

Who spreads the floor for Yao?

Other then that Yao has a history of breaking bones in his foot any time he plays more then 34 minutes a game for a few games in a row, and due to his size he will continue to have those problems.

In the end I think we are better off keeping what he have, and adding young role players that could develop.

Yao breaks a bone in his foot and has proven he can't stay healthy and you want to trade JR and Nene for him? Did you actually think this post through?

Some Rocket fans suggest trading because he never stays healthy...

seems like a reason for us not to want him

we're going to the wcfs, and all you guys can think about is who we can trade.

wtf is wrong with this board?

He doesn't stay healthy, so you want to trade for him?

He can't run a fast paced offense, he doesn't play well in Denver's altitude, and he needs to dominate the ball in order to be effective.

Pay no mind PetBull. The guy doesnt know the first thing about basketball. Yes! Let's trade two of our 4 most valuable members for an oft injured, slow-footed center when we are a running team at altitude! Great **** idea!

Now that we got that out of the way. We need to do something about Melo smiling too much

Amen, the only thing I have looked into at all is who might fall to us with our 2nd round pick in the upcoming draft, but to be honest, I haven't even done that as much as I have in comparison to previous years.

Birdman ain't filler, JR is too talented, and Yao continually breaks his ankles/feet......Yao will need to develop a Yao shoe that will prevent him from breaking his stubs before that trade looks even remotely good.

Yao is a question mark right now.

Face it guys, we will find 5 more J.R. Smiths before we find another franchise center. We're gearing towards a halfcourt team anyway than a running team thesedays. Melo would take a lot of scoring pressure off Yao and take off that pressure having to produce. He might play his first 82 game season.

Andersen is not filler, but Houston would smart off and say he is because they want value back for a franchise player. The three guys combined are more valuable now to our system than Yao is, but to Houston they are barely enough what they want in return in a trade.

If we pull this off, we have a summer to add some more pieces like another big, or through another trade to get a quality SG, etc. But getting a franchise center like Yao is once in a lifetime.

Melo would make Yao so good and vice versa it's going to be scary, then to Kroenke, getting Yao is a no brainer economically. Imagine Melo jersey the no. 1 selling jersey in China, and more chinese tourists going to Denver.

yao already has had two 82 game seasons.
iirc profits from jersey sales are split evenly between teams, because the nba owns the rights...not each team.
there arent that many chinese people in colorado...under 3%, to be precise. it'd be more economical to bring eddie back, since denver has a very high % of hispanic people (18%+)...and eddie doesnt make 15 million a season.

but regardless, the whole issue is that a 7'6 chinese guy is not made to play nba basketball. his lower legs cant take the constant running and jumping, and its only a matter of time each season until he breaks down.
throw in 5,280 feet 41+ times a season and the fact that he already has conditioning issues because of his size, and this might be one of the worst ideas i've seen on this board.

and you're bringing it up in the middle of the first decent playoff run the nuggets have had in 20+ years.

I guess every board has to have at least one of these posters. Luckily we only have one these days, now that AI got the **** out of town.

I want to start this out by saying that Yao is literally my favorite non-nuggets player in the league. I love the way he plays, I love his personality, and I think he has unfairly gotten a lot of grief. That being said, he would be an awful fit on this team. Until he stops playing for China each off-season he is a HUGE injury risk, the guy gets a couple of weeks rest each year, and that would be the same in Denver. He doesn't play our style, and its waaaaaay too much to give up for Yao. That trade would gut our depth (which, for the first time in a long time, we actually have) and destroy our future nucleus of Melo/JR/Nene. So overall, no thanks

This thread is stupid, what a stupid proposal....
we are going to the western confrence finals (hopefully) so we are doing something right. This trade would mess up the whole team. Hell no to this trade
