Afflalo is a great defensive and offensive player this would be a great move for us and would improve the team.

^He ain't great anything. He's a solid back-up perimeter option, a hard as hell worker and gym rat who could become a Bowen-type defender or a Raja Bell type at best.

Think Bryant Stith. Still, if his improvement as a shooter is real, he's an excellent fit. If not, he's Dahntay Jones minus the edge. Fingers crossed.

Dahntay Jones was an average defender at best. Affalo is well above average. Even if he couldn't throw a rock in the ocean on offense he'd still be an improvement over Jones.

Pretty much an ideal replacement for Jones, but better most likely, especially if he can develop some offensive game.

I agree I think Afflalo is a better defensive player, but while he can shoot better, doesn't mean he's the better offensive player than DJ. DJ is much more athletic and when he drives to the rim, it usually results in a score or a trip to the free throw line. If you see Lakers series, the lasy 2-3 games, he was figuring out how to attack the Lakers in the paint. He didn't even shoot any three pointer... aside of attacking the basket with athleticism, he is also a big finisher on the break, something that I can't see Afflalo do.

Affalo is a better fit, because he'll get a lot of open shots and can shoot jumpers.
and I wouldn't say Jones driving to the basket results to a score or free throw line. i'd say half of it is that, and the other half he loses the ball (he seriously never considers passing when he drives).

I'm glad somebody caught that. Since when did Jones become considered even a decent finisher? If he doesn't turn the ball over in the process of making whatever move he makes, he sure as well does not finish the player with any sort of regularity.
I'd say 2 times out of 3 he turns the ball over before getting a shot up.....and of that 33% that he actually does get a shot attempt, 3/4 he is not going to convert it. He also looks to pass on a fastbreak or drive exactly 1 time out of 100. Saying he was anything better then terrible on the offensive end is the greatest injustice in sports scouting since LeBron being considered a defensive player of the year candidate.

IMO Afflalo is a cross between Raja Bell & Shane Battier.
He's not a lock down defender, but he's a very good in-your-shirt defender. The type that just crowds you and hawks you all over the floor. Offensively he's fairly limited, but he worked hard to improve his jumper and knocked down the 3 at better than 40% last year.
The most impressive thing about Afflalo is his bball IQ though. He made virtually zero "rookie mistakes" and that carried over to his sophomore season. He has a knack for being in the right place at the right time, he knows when to give up the ball (and to who) on the break, that sorta stuff. Very heady player.
He might never be as good as Raja or Battier, but I think he can at least be close. I don't wanna trade him at all, to be honest. And for the record it doesn't make any sense for us to trade him for Kleiza considering we just drafted 3 SF. We need bigs. C's in particular.
Not a lot of vids of the cat though. This was kinda the best I could find.

Like the basketball IQ. It can only spread, right?

I agree with everything Cowology said, and would add that Afflalo is very good at finishing on fast breaks, which is rather strange considering he's not very skilled with dribble penetration in half court settings.

Afflalo would be a great replacement for Jones.
