I guess you won't be seeing him for at least 2 seasons. I guess he didn't want to wait anymore on the nuggets to pigeon hole him. Good for him. You lost a good player. You still own his rights so I am sure he will come back in 2 seasons.

To Add to that There still is a possibility of him coming back after a season overseas. He has an option after his first year.

And because Yahoo is making mistake making clarification from Greece.

Kleiza signed 2 years for 4 mil Euro ( i.e 2.9 USD Mil per year no taxes nothing he get this money clean)

No option to return after 1 year to NBA

To make it easy to understand because of the tax in USA the contract he singed is equivelant to
USD 8.12Million for 2 years if he has signed with Denver

So who are they going to sign to replace him, I would really like it to be someone besides Balkman, , maybe like Ime Udoka, Rodney Carney, or Joey Graham, maybe even Wally Szcerbiak.

He will be over there for at least 2 years. Teams will have to overpay for him in order for the Nugs not to match. I doubt anyone offer anything over the MLE for him.

It's going to take more than watching a few Nuggets/Lakers games in the playoffs to understand Kleiza's value. He can be easily replaced with a guy who is actually a reliable shooter off the bench.

we lost an average player (at best) who got severely overpaid. 6+ mill per? no nba team would dare give him that much. props to his agent.

I honestly don't think you've watched many Nuggets games, nor bother to look at the numbers. You blast JR Smith in threads, and act like Linas Kleiza is an irreplaceable piece to the Nuggets puzzle. That baffles me, unless of course you don't care to rationally look at everything, and have some sort of bias toward Kleiza. There's a common link between the two guys, as they both offer outside shooting and a scoring punch off the bench.

61% of Kleiza's shots are jump shots, at which he's hitting at an overly unimpressive .417 efg%. Especially unimpressive considering how many 3's he's attempting. JR Smith (chucker) has 78% of his shots on jump shots, at a .530 efg%. A little more effective shooting the ball, even though his shot selection is so poor/he's braindead/etc.

Also interesting to note that Kleiza's jumpers are being assisted 93% of the time, which is about equivalent to any other player who can't create his own shot.

Let's also not forget that the Nuggets play better defense when JR Smith is on the court than off of it, while they play worse defense with Kleiza on the court than with him off of it. Considering Kleiza is generally checking in for Melo, who isn't generally considered a good defensive player, seems a little odd.

He literally is going to park at the three point line, wait for Melo/JR/Chauncey to draw in his man, and based on his efg%, more often than not, clank a jumper. Then not defend anybody. You're right. Totally irreplaceable.

People need to stop looking at everything in such black and white "Boston added this many guys, San Antonio added this many, Denver lost this many. BOS>SA>DEN." Losing Dahntay Jones doesn't make Denver worse. It probably makes them better. Losing Linas Kleiza doesn't doom the team either. They can rather easily find a jump shooter who is actually a jump shooting specialist, rather than a guy who's going to shoot as many as one, and play defense like one, but not actually convert on the shots like one.

i don't "blast" j.r. in thread(S). i've only mentioned that i'd rather have somebody more mature like redd on a team that's seriously wanting to win a championship.

i don't understand why you're comparing j.r. and lk, i know what they are talent-wise and emotionally..

if you're saying that people need to stop looking in such black and white, take your own advice, all you've done is posted your stats between two totally different players that are given different roles by the coaches. how can you measure who's better based on what the staff tells the players to do?

no, i agree losing kleiza isn't dooming the team but it is shaking things up.

and i've seen enough nuggets games to guess what might happen.

we'll see what happens next season.

They're very comparable players. They both are supposed to be our scoring off the bench, they're taking a huge chunk of their shots from the perimeter, and neither is regarded as a great defensive player. Bottom line - Kleiza takes poor shots, hits less of them, and is worse defensively. I don't see what you're so happy about with Kleiza. I'll glady repeat - the Nuggets would be better off if they replaced him with a real outside shooter, not Kleiza masquerading as one while shooting at a pretty poor clip.
