Sadly, this was easily seen coming. Likely means very limited minutes this season for Lawson.

would love to get Sani Becirovic so Carter only has 1/3 of a chance to be the backup PG.

Who didn't see this one coming, we needed a 3rd PG and he is fine, as long as Karl allows Lawson a fair chance to earn minutes I am good with this.

How many guards do you honestly think the Nuggets will be bringing in? This makes 5 and will probably be the last guard and I am sure they will not even talk about another PG.

To be fair Sani is a combo. Could also backup the 2.
What I'd still like to see happen is more depth. Ely (4,5) Udoka (3,2), Becirovic (1,2). Even adding Green to that would be fine (3,2). Between the Hunter dump and letting Kleiza go they can afford a little depth... especially if they don't use the TPE.
Another guard is possible with the Nuggets talking about McCants.

i'm fine with AC as 3rd string pg
and that means we are not going after McCants anymore

I don't see the Nuggets bringing in more then 2 more players putting them at 13,
As far as McCants, I think they view him as a SG (only) which having watched him play is what he is, the idea is probably to slide JR or Afflalo to SF when McCants is on the floor.

I'm fine with AC as a 3rd string PG too, but the problem is that Karl won't use him as just a 3rd string point guard. When has Karl ever given a rookie significant minutes over one of his little pets?

I'm ok with this... I believe Lawson will beat AC in the PG position.
Badly need to get a scorer/shooter off the bench though... Hoping like hell it will be Steve Novak.
Then sign Aaron Gray to an offer sheet using the LLE. IF the Bulls match, they'll be over the lux tax, if they don't, then we get a big body. If they do match, then get Sean Marks.

AC is an excellent passing point guard.
He is a hustle defender.
Welcome back, AC!

Karl was bugging the front office to get Lawson a year before he even entered the draft. I truly believe Ty Lawson will be given a fair shot to be the backup PG.

I'm very happy about this.....I think Lawson, being from North Carolina and the speediest guy on our squad, will get plenty of tick. But I also think right now he's got a learning curve, and if Chauncey went down, it would hurt us....badly.
AC has his faults. No question he can be turnover prone and miss a lot of shots, but he brings hustle, assists, and he's a decent defender.
But most important - the CHEMISTRY of this team - we've replaced Dahntay and need to replace Kleiza. Our bench needs a guy who isn't so worried about stats and puts the team first- and that's carter.
We pick up Wally, then go after Rob Kurz or someone similar. Doubt we use the trade exception at all.....

I'm not a big Rob Kurz guy, especially not if we bring in a softy like Wally or Novak as well. Kurz is too much of a tweener, more of a small forward just like Wally and Kurz. Aaron Gray would be fine with me(now that Smith is gone), he has great size that we could use, as well as a decent mid range game and rebounding ability. Mikki Moore would be nice too, but I'm sure he would cost too much.
I'd take any one of Wally, Novak, or Carney for the backup SF spot. Gray or Moore as our 4th big.

seriously Gray and Moore instead of Ely?
also kinda wonder if Justin Williams has signed in Europe yet. I always liked him.

Because Gray would be more useful to this team then Ely.

umm in real life the tortoise doesn't beat the hare. Just an FYI there. Granted there was a lot of get me a 7 footer talk on this forum over the past few months... but seriously Gray doesn't look like a good fit. At least Moore has mobility.

Gray would only play garbage time... maybe 10-15 minutes max a game. He's just be a filler and big body to toss out against other big bodies if the Nene/Kmart/Birdman start failing against other bigs.
