Some more info there, including an update on Nenê's broken arm at the hand of the cheap shot artist Dick Gasol.

I was completely unaware that JR Smith had switched to #5. I was expecting him to move back to 23.

Training Camp Roster (from Denver Stiffs from Tommason):

FORWARDS
Malik Allen
Carmelo Anthony
Renaldo Balkman
Keith Brumbaugh
Joey Graham
Kenyon Martin
James White

GUARDS
Arron Afflalo
Chauncey Billups
Anthony Carter
Dontaye Draper
Ty Lawson
J.R. Smith

CENTERS
Chris Andersen
Kurt Looby
Nene
Johan Petro

Draper was on the Nuggets summer league roster... he was that super fast PG for those who can't remember.

Don't know who the hell the others are... Coby Karl went to the Cavs training camp.

I expect Joey Graham to make the team.

Dontaye Draper is Melo's childhood friend. Although unlike Nenê's friend who was in camp a few years ago, this guy can actually play. No room for him with us though, but hopefully it helps him latch on somewhere.

Keith Brumbaugh is a talented guy though, don't be surprised if he gives Graham and White a run for their money for that backup wing spot. He is 6'10, can handle the ball, and has a pretty good outside shot. Was very highly regarded out of high school, but had some troubles early which effected his draft stock. He seems to have his life sorted out now though, so who knows. Definitely a guy to watch.

What happened to growing the beard out until next June?

I don't blame him though....I can barely let mine grow out to like a half inch before it starts bugging the **** out of me and I end up shaving it.

James White is also from the Baltimore area, I wonder if he has had some past relations with Melo as well?

DenverPost article basically states that Ty Lawson will only play in garbage minutes this year.

Let's hope for an AC injury.

Not that that should be surprising to anybody, but it is pretty amusing how little time was wasted making that clear. Good God.

Well as of now, that's how it should be. Let the rook earn his stripes throughout training camp and the first couple months of the season. If he proves on the court that he should be the full time backup, and he still doesn't get minutes, then we can have a beef. Not right now though.

I think it has more to do with George Karl refusing to even consider playing rookies for real minutes. I don't think anybody would blame a head coach for bringing their rookie along slowly - especially on a contending team. I think doing this before we even start camp/preseason just exemplifies that Lawson isn't even getting a fair shake.

Anthony Carter could also earn his stripes as well.

I don't have a problem with Karl saying that those 2 will fight it out for the backup PG spot, but just gifting AC the position is unfair even for a rookie.

I do think that Lawson will outplay him in the preseason games, whether that will be enough... who knows.

i don't think those are actual pistons shorts. just the same color theme. patriotic shorts? :dontknow:

NBATV is streaming the Nugs training camp right now and they are going to show it on tv later today. It's really good stuff.

Afflalo should find a new color scheme for his shorts, me think. I couldn't for the life of me tell you what brand that is, perhaps something he endorses. Still, you'd think he'd get hooked up with some Carolina blue/gold ones.

Watching the real training camp thing. Pretty similar to past years. A little earlier in the year than I care to see Bill Hanzlik.
