Reading today that Anthony Randolph may be on the block - but I'd also be interested in Brandan Wright. What do you think it would take to get em?
Balkman/AC/2nd? Would that be enough? Seeing as how he's in Nellie's doghouse anyways....

Umm...no.
To get Anthony Randolph I'm pretty sure they want an all-star in return. Fair or not, that is their expectation.
Brandan Wright I don't have a clue, but I can assure you it'd take more then our scrubs and a crappy pick. He is injured anyway, so it's hard to say that they don't actually like him.

hard to get an all star back with what Randolph makes. impossible to move long term deals with free agency looming.
Bobcat's 1st, Carter (exp), Allen (exp) for Randolph. Expirings and a high 1st rounder. Going to be hard to beat that.

We traded that pick for Lawson.
And sure it'd be hard to trade Randolph straight up for an all-star, but they could easily include Bell's 6 mill expiring and/or guys like Vlad Rad, Maggette, or even Biedrins....to make the salary work, and to give whatever team some proven players along with Randolph's upside. The talks over the summer were something like Biedrins and Randolph for Amare.
Either way...if it were to come down to a couple small expiring contracts and a first rounder for Randolph, there are plenty of other teams out there that could give a better pick and or better small salary players, and would in a second. We have no shot at him, unless we're going to give up someone in the rotation, which would be stupid.

gonna be harder still to do that. Nugs dealt Cats pick to net Lawson.
Nugs also don't have their own 2010 1st (dealt to Memphis to take Hunter off our hands), so can't deal 2011 1st. I think the only pick they own before 2012 that they can trade is 2010 Memphis 2nd rounder.
That means that unless the Nugs are going to replace someone in the rotation (probably not a good idea), the only assets they have are Balkman ($2.1M) -whose value GK has torpedoed to near 0- and their willingness to take on (probably long-term) salary via trade exceptions ($3.2 and 3.6M, but can't be combined with each other or with players) and a few small expirings (M. Allen's is biggest at $1.3M. Allen, Petro, Carter, Graham combined make about $4M). That's not nothing, but it nets you nothing like Randolph. The only contract the W's would want to get rid of is Maggette's and that's beyond our reach. Besides, IF the W's really are dangling Randolph, it's probably for talent. They won't have cap space anytime soon, IIRC.

Randolph + Biedrins for melo.
Nene could play PF (original position)
Randolph start SF
J.R. Smith could be the man of attack
Lawson could be the sixth man
the bench will be very good (pg, sg/sf,pf,c)
the team start with a tall line-up
a very good and young team.... for many years.
PG- Billups 33
SG- J.R. 24
SF - Randolph 20
PF- Nene 27
C- Biedrins 23
bench: K. Martin 32, Andersen 31, Lawson 22, Afflalo 24

This can't be serious...
I have one. Randolph for AC. Warroirs need a young legit PG who is turnover proof and can shoot really well. They get that in AC and we get anyone else but AC.

Seriously though, if we could somehow get him for Balkman + something else that would be great. I doubt it will happen though. I think we should try to focus on a rebounding big, but i have no idea who we could get at this point.

I'd do Nene for Biedrins and Randolph for the sole fact that that Brazilian troll who can't spell worth a **** will leave this board.

Doing No deal beats that.
As to the OP...obviously GSW is not gonna trade BOTH Randolph + Wright, a pair of very promising lotto guys...for scraps..then plan on Vlad Rad as the PF. Even MORE obvious, you do not do a weak-ass trade in the conference...boost a rival and damage yourself. You can't operate like that and have a career.
The Bobcat's pick will not get GSW a 7 ft leaper who HAS scored 20+ has topped 10+ reb,has had 3-4 blocks in the NBA. At BEST...GSW rolls back the clock, flips a coin that they get another Randolph and not another P O'Bryant.
The wise move for GSW is to "promote" Nellie to special consultant ( or just can him) and get a coach who's priorities are the team, the players, and becoming a contender. THEN..GSW can actually find out what their players can be.

A couple weeks ago, against Orlando, Randolph played C vs Dwight Howard. Randolph had 28 pt,13 reb,5 assists and a shotblock. Dwight had 17 pt,8 reb,2 asst,2 blocks. My guess is that if a 20 yr old wins a matchup with Dwight Howard, you figure there's something there. I seriously doubt the Nugs have the trade chips to pry him loose. Some blogger in NY writes that AR is available and it's just amazing how many suckers assume it's some sort of panic salary dump..like GSW is in a blind frenzy to purge talent no matter what. I overestimated a lot of the fans here. There's some that really ARE sharp and some.....well......
Was that Balkman "idea" a joke or just....disturbing and kind of pitiful?

Put him in the HOF after that game......AR is the best player maybe ever. At least in the top 10 in the NBA.

That would be premature. The point however is that anyone who actually imagines you get a very young, very low $,tall player with that sort of talent isn't making a worthy analysis...he's chokin' the chicken. If you want to CHEAT someone...you have to at least be SUBTLE. You want GSW to at least pause a minute and think about it...not just laugh.
FWIW.....Even the Melo for Biedrins+Randolph one is DOA...and I doubt the Nugs do it. GSW DOES score, has SF's who do SCORE. GSW ranks low in D and rebounds...and Who's their best rebound + Defense bigs? Biedrins and Randolph.
