Wow Rihanna
That's good Billups is out it will - sooner or later - ring the bell in this team that they gotta start playing better with or without Billups, that they need to get the job done... it will come to light they can't depend on one guy to be elite if they want to be recognized as such, they will still have to be elite without one/ two guys.
A bit of adversity will help this team for the battle in March/ April/ May and beyond and make them choose: do they want to be elite or to be just good. It makes them find their true identity as a team.

What a horrible first half... everyone but Lawson doesn't seem to be focused at all.
At least the deficit is not unsurmountable, but Nowitzki has been quiet so far...

AA having a nice game so is Ty,
Gotta keep this within 10 point or less entering 4th. J.R & Melo gotta step it up to close the deal. Nene needs to frealing rebound the ball. Melo is doin pretty good on the glass,
Damn! Gotta get this.

Man we suck without Chauncey.
Gotta try and trade Nene for Bosh as well... dude is soft as hell and doesn't rebound.

Re: Game 31: Dallas Mavericks (21-9) @ Denver Nuggets (20-10)
We suck without Chauncey... he's the system... without him, we're back to the Allen Iverson Marcus Camby era where streetball ruled. We have no system at all, Nene refusing to go to the paint and demand the ball not helping... he is pathetic. I don't think he's intentionally doing it, he's saying he's unselfish bla bla is an excuse he unconsciously makes so he doesn't play the game under pressure.
When we're down 4-6 pts, and with Melo out, we tend to hope as a team that J.R. makes his long range bombs. Instead of attacking the rim as a unit, we give the ball to J.R. and watch him shoot over 2-3 Mavs, that's **** up. J.R. also forcing his shots and thinking his shots gonna go in all the time (aka Reggie Miller) don't help... I agree that's a mentality a shooter must have, but he has to play more than just a shooter especially playing with an inept Nene, a rookie, offensive stiffs in KMart and Carter and Afflalo, he gotta step up and be more than just a shooter.
We gotta move the ball, we gotta move the ball, we gotta move the ball, it's a shame we can't take advantage of Afflalo's corner three pt shooting more. Instead we hope J.R. become Jordan and we go home with a win and smiley faces. No, J.R. is that awesome for one night in one year. That's about it. This team has to watch Houston Rockets play without Yao Ming, how they stick to one system, ball movement, go inside to Landry for some scoring, and more ball movement and they stick with it no matter what situation they are in... and take it as an inspiration. This team crumbles and shakes when they're down and they're running out of time... they gotta find a formula that works and sticks with it... not turn to one man (even if he's Melo) and hope he bails us out. That's no formula of winning games, let alone championship.

Re: Game 31: Dallas Mavericks (21-9) @ Denver Nuggets (20-10)
We procured the ball more than Dallas - getting more shots off and forcing turnovers but too many times the ball was not scored on the turnover. Dallas missed enough and we grabbed the rebound enough to get the shots we needed but there was no method to the offensive attack.
The game was really lost in the end of 1st quarter though. There would be a much different result without it slipping so early.
JR is an assassin on offense. ... but he needs that guiding hand to keep him on track, i.e. Chauncey. It's nice to see him go off for 40 one game.
AC......no comment. Get the ball to the right spot, and don't become a chucker.

George Karl does not teach a system, but if all 5 starters are healthy, they are just too good for most teams.
However, if even one starter is injured, they can't rely on their indiviual ability so much and their lack of organized play becomes evident.
They are 1-8 in games where one starter was injured and 19-3 in games where all starters were healthy.
It's obvious that Denver's bench is good but not deep.
