Track record just too good? Aside from 2003 and 2007 he's been a wholly average player. He's also going to be 32 this upcoming season. Odds are good last season was more flukish than his stint in Boston.

The errors was flukish, that was about it. Batting wise wasn't too far off from his career numbers to that point. A little low but considering he was pressing at points in the season, you could see why. But he was a much better defender than he show in Boston.
