It is not as simple as saying pitcher>Hitter.


Fausto is good, but has one year of dominace under his belt, while Miguel Cabrera has been domiant since he was a teen. Fausto is good, but Miguel Cabrera is a better player. Would you trade Grady Sizemore for Oliver Perez?

That's an unfair analogy because Perez has sucked the last few seasons. He had one great year but it wasn't even as close to Fausto's year. I agree with your point, that you don't give up a star position player for a pitcher who has one great year under his belt but if Fausto was the centerpiece, and not the only piece, then I think you could certainly have worse options if you were the Marlins. mahalo
