I dont see how you pull the trigger of any trade involving Young, but damn if that pitching staff develops like it should you can get away with it. The Rays have plenty of young talent to go around everywhere you look, they just need to mature and develop. Its surprises me to say this but the Rays have the potential to be dangerous.

Solid deal on both sides... until both players bolt the team.

i dont really understand the deal for either team, if santanna is traded, wouldnt garza have been your #1?

and i dont get it from tampa bay's perspective b/c this guy was supposed to be a superstar and had a solid rookie year and will only get better IMO. i figured he was about as untouchable as it gets, i guessed the rays saw him as a real problem child.

that morlan is an interesting prospect

Jason Bartlett is a hell of a better player than Brendan Harris.
.

Maybe on defense but Harris is clearly the better offensive player.

That's probably going to be Liriano but this does leave the Twins starting rotation thin.

The Twins feel they have the makings of a pretty good rotation on their own, with Slowey, Perkins, Swarzak, Smit and Blackburn waiting to move up.

Thats their rationalization.

how confident are the twins that he'll be healthy come opening day? he's a stud pitcher but id be leary of my ace when he's coming off serious surgery and will take time to recover

They sound pretty confident. In February it will be 15 months since he had surgery, he's had time to recover.
