I never said i believe that. I also know that Melky will never be more than a bottom of the order hitter.

melky will be no more than a bottom of the order hitter on the yankees, he could be at the top of the lineup for the majority of teams

Well considering they have Jeter, Arod and Cano i wouldn't want him at the top for the future. Just because the Yankees have the depth to bat him 7 8 or 9th, doesn't mean he isn't much more then a bottom of the lineup hitter. Do you honestly believe Cano is a 7th hitter? No, it's just they have so much depth in the lineup.

Me personally, I'd take Hughes, Melky over Ellsbury and Lester. But, that's me. I'd value a 20/21 year old future ace over a potential all-star CF and a quality #2,#3 guy. People act as if Melky is a bad player, too.

He really is overrated. I have read an article saying that a lot of major leaguers in their 1st or 2nd season had a similar production for the same amount of games.

according to various people at the meetings, the deal will most likely not get done.

Rotowire:
MLBTradeRumors.com, citing a trusted New York sportswriter, says the Twins have attempted to initiate talks on a three-team deal that would net them Dan Haren, send Johan Santana to the Mets and Jose Reyes to the A's.
It's a huge long shot, but it is the kind of deal the Twins should have been aiming for in the first place if they wanted to stay in contention. This rumor has the A's also sending Bobby Crosby and Dan Johnson to the Mets, while getting Kevin Mulvey back. Hector Pellot would go to the Twins.
