Must be true, if it's a rumor you read on Hoopshype.

Its so funny that the Dodgers supposively have the a lot of the best young players in baseball, yet every off-season they're throwing money around everywhere to get more veterans.

Looking back it's easy to second guess the Pierre signing, but you have to remember that the Dodgers were expecting J.D Drew to be their RF. Kemp had played but a few games and Eithier was a rookie who ended in a huge slump. There is no way they were going to go into spring training with that as their outfield once Drew opted out enter the temporary solution of Luis Gonzalez and Juan Pierre.

i dont see how signing pierre to a 5 year deal is temporary. and it was easy to second guess the pierre signing a year ago, it was a dumbass signing.

i wonder if colletti made a signing like that b/c it was his 1st offseason or b/c ethier and kemp were drafted by people before he was there. sometimes i think GM's like to make a splash their 1st season on the job or clean out prospects they either dont like would rather take the team in a different direction

Everybody screams for nerdy-nerd stat boy DePodesta to be fired and they bring in Ned Colletti, whose moves are twice as bad as DePodesta's. ahahaha

Colleti traded Milton Bradley for Ethier in his first off season on the job.
