This feels wrong to me. If I was a pirates fan, I'd be pissed. Sports is full of bad owners. The Wilpons (Mets former owners) were terrible. Nobody likes the Dolans though James has been a lot more hands off lately, letting the GM run the team, which fans appreciate. Not all the Knicks' moves have been good, but the Knicks have been much better run the last few years.

anyway . . . rant/rant. I don't think Bob Nothing is going to look good for doing this or make more money than this will cost him. I don't think Surfside would have paid for the add had they know. Just my 2 cents.

with shared revenues, small market teams with low payrolls like the Pirates turn a profit every year. MLB needs better owners.

Update. Pirates made a statement that it was a temporary logo that only went up in 2021. They still have a statue and a plaque for Clemente. Still, I liked the way that logo looked there. The ad is unfortunate and not well received.

And it's Surfside drinks . . . not the sub place. That doesn't change the story much though. They make weird things like green tea with vodka.
