The Orioles want Jay Bruce. If they include Bruce in a deal with Cueto, Hamilton and Homer Bailey, it will get done. That's what MacPhail is asking for.

The last rumored offer for Brian Roberts from the Cubs was Sean Gallagher, Eric Patterson, Angel Guzman, and Matt Murton for Roberts.

so the orioles want to clean out the reds farm system for bedard? bedards good and all but that could end up being one of the most lopsided trades in the last 10 years

It's settled. Luke Scott is the superior player.

Defensively and agility wise Id take Corey Hart, but if a team is looking for offense and power Id take Carlos Lee. Hart has recorded what 20 homeruns and 20 steals every season since 2003? Well, Lee on the offensive end has recorded 30+ homeruns and 100+ RBIs for the past 7 seasons.

Umm why? Hart's first full year as a starter he hit 24 homeruns and is a projected 30/30 guy. Sure he only had 81 RBI's but that's because he started out the season batting 7th, then got moved to leadoff and then finally they settled on him batting 5th.

And lets not forget that Yost Decided that Gross was abetter option in the begining of the season and Corey didn't become a full time starter till mid-may.

Carlos is a lazy bum he would be much better in the AL where he could just be a DH

So now the Astros will basically be the same team as last year for the first month of the season and they gave up 5 players including Troy Patton. Not to mention they released their backup SS yesterday.

They have Mark Loretta, I think Bruntlett is gone.

Anyways who cares, nobody expected the Astros to be worth a **** for the next couple of years regardless of that trade or not. Good thing the division is easily the worst in baseball though, they might still win 75 games!

It sucks seeing a franchise that was either in the postseason or contending for it every year for the last 10 years or so reduced to mediocrity. God I miss the Killer B's days.

Atleast I can enjoy watching Pence and Berkman and Oswalt kick some ass while the rest of the team sucks it up.

Not like it matters, the NL is crap and whoever comes out of it won't win anyways!

Yes, it's your bias. I understand they didn't get to a WS before the Roid Twins got here, but winning their division 4 out of 5 years(97,98,99,01) and winning the WC in 2004,2005(making it to the WS that year) isn't that shabby I guess. I'd expect more but hey, it's hard to get to the postseason, let alone every year, let alone advance.

Hell, the only missed the playoffs in '06 by 1.5 games(the year the Cardinals won it all, I can't help but think that could have been us).

They had some damn good teams in the late 90's they just always ran into the evil Braves and their incredible pitching. We can't all be Yankee/Red Sox fans, sadly.

Of course, now the Killer B's are gone(except Berkman), our pitching is gone(except Oswalt), and our farm system is depleted. Last year's mediocre season is a taste of the years to come. Good times.

Hey its your opinion living in Houston I can say that Lee is better, but you may be a Brewers fan soo you can say Hart is better actually I have an idea just for fun lets put it on the player comparison boared, and the key word is projected. :D

Yeah I am a Brewers fan which means I've seen Hart and Lee play more than most and Hart is the better player.

Just an update: looks like Scott will get every chance to play regularly as in every day. Pitchers won't be rushed, i.e. will start off in the minors and work their way up.
Bickerstaff: who's up for kickball?!!
Ed Wood: Only if it's the no-pants variety.
