Dotel gets 6 million a year?

RealGM Staff Report - According to ESPN.com, Octavio Dotel and the Chicago White Sox have come to terms on a two-year contract worth $11 million over the length of the deal.

Kyle Farnsworth's deal is a bargain compared to this. :rofl:

honestly everyone is overpaid in baseball, i don't know why people are always surprised when someone gets overpaid.

no salary cap= lots of players get overpaid.

First off, dude, change your handle. PM one of the admins because you look like an idiot.

The reason Atkins only got $5 million is because he wasn't a free agent. He had three years of service time so this off-season he was eligible for arbitration for the first time. They avoided having to go to a hearing by agreeing to the $4.3 million figure. Next offseason, assuming he keeps producing, he should get a salary of $6-8 million. One more year of arbitration after that and then he's a FA, when he can cash in on a long term deal on the open market. That's how baseball's salary system works. The player gets screwed over his first 3 seasons and then he starts making money. mahalo
