Why? Purke is better.

Sanchez was a major surprise as he's a second or third round talent.

Well he wasn't a surprise for anyone who was following along on mlb.com as it was predicted awhile ago.

These analysts are God awful (Harold Renyolds is ok). They've liked every pick so far. Everyone in this draft is a gamer and a 5 tool player according to them.

I didn't find it as much surprising as I did a bad pick. It was just a bad, bad pick at that spot, in my opinion. I see a lot of Jason Varitek in him for some reason, and while that isn't a bad thing, I don't believe its a first round talent.

well i hate that our owner is a real cheapskate when it comes to the payroll but love that our Gm has convinced him to put up a ton of money in the draft and internationally. Texas just bent over the draft again and it's well known we're making some headlines internationally too.

If tanner scheppers can stay healthy just give up

Braves drafted two college arms with their first two picks. Considering our rotation I'm a little surprised.

All I can find about Minor is that he's real solid but has little upside. I don't know anything about the Princeton guy.

Tigers draft was good, but passing up Matzek really pisses me off.

Jacob Turner-

6'5" 210lb 18 yrs old RHP; throws between 95-98 mph on his fastball. Needs work on his command though, especially on his secondary pitches.

Andrew Oliver -

6'3" 210lb 22 yr old LHP; throws between 92-97 mph. Needs to add movement to his pitches and needs to develop a breaking pitch.

Wade Gaynor-

6'4" 213lb 21 yr old 3B- Apparently a guy that does everything well. A threat for 20 HR and 20 SB.

Overall, not too shabby. Need more positional players in the later rounds though.

I'm liking the Brewers draft. First time we've taken a college pitcher in the first round since Sheets in 1999.

Hopefully we can get Davis to sign. I like him as a possible 20/20 outfielder in the future and they think he can stick in CF.

Heckathorn is the ultimate high risk/high reward player. Needs some major tweaks in his delivery, but you can't argue against his pure stuff.

Walla is a typical Brewers pick. We know you can hit, we'll find a defensive spot for you later.

Strong defensive catcher with a line drive in Garfield.

Strong defensive shortstop with a good offensive campaign at Tulane after he started wearing glasses in Prince.

Rockies, don't you dare sign Tyler Matzek. Oregon needs him to make its baseball program look legitimate.

I'm not alone in being down on Ackley, am I? Like, I don't see much of a future for him in the majors, at all. I seriously doubt he'll pan out to be an All-Star. If he becomes an everyday center fielder that'd be nice, but I'm just waiting for the bat to disappear at this point.
