longest centre field walls in baseball

Post#1 » by jazzy_jeff » Thu Jul 16, 2009 7:45 pm

I once found a list of these, but can't anymore. Does anyone know where one is?
I'm looking to settle a debate with someone who says Telus Field in Edmonton is second longest

Landshark Stadium and Minute Maid Park are definitely bigger if wikipedia is right when it says Telus Field is only 420 feet.

I think it's just something to make it stand out. They named it after an Astros executive and I believe old Tiger Stadium had a flagpole on the field too.

Man, I remember when Richie Sexson hit a ball off the flagpole. Would've been way out for a HR, probably about 460-470 feet, but since it hit the flagpole, it was still in play and went for a triple. Ended up costing us the game.
