Schilling Interested in Kennedy's vacant Senate seat

Post#1 » by Da Schwab » Thu Sep 3, 2009 2:43 am

BOSTON – Curt Schilling, the former major league pitcher who won the allegiance of Bostonians by leading the Red Sox to the 2004 World Series, said Wednesday that he has "some interest" in running for the seat held for nearly 50 years by Democratic Sen. Edward M. Kennedy.

Schilling, a registered independent and longtime Republican supporter, wrote on his blog that while his family and video game company, 38 Studios, are high priorities, "I do have some interest in the possibility."

This would piss me off to no end. Politicians are already big-headed, idiots, we don't need the be-all-end-all to come and think he knows what he's doing.

I like how he ranks his video game company right up there with his family.

I wouldn't vote for him. Worse thing is when he goes on D&C and talks politics. I wanna hear him talk baseball, not obama.

He wouldn't win the general election. Massachusetts voters are content with sending Dems to Congress, and especially wouldn't go red here considering whom they're replacing. And Schilling's views wouldn't play well here at all. If he ever wants a political career, he's got a better shot in Pennsylvania or Arizona.

Like he could get elected in Mass. His political views are more in line with Sarah Palin than Edward Kennedy.
