TBS's Impeccable Postseason Coverage

Post#1 » by WEFFPIM » Mon Oct 12, 2009 2:52 am

It's amazing how one network can be so good at basketball and so bad at baseball. TNT's basketball coverage is the best in the business right now, but wow is their baseball production bad. From the massive technical difficulties they've had (see Rockies/Phillies, or I guess don't see) to "Line drive, base hit!...Caught out there..." somehow TBS has surpassed ESPN in terms of terrible baseball production.

Chip Caray is an absolute riot to listen to, like hitting someone in the head with a brick and making them recite the alphabet. Dick Stockton might as well be having a stroke.

This message was brought to you by Lopez Tonight.

Amen. Absolutely atrocious play calling by almost everyone. I kind of liked Darling's commentary. Caray is god awful. Thank GOD he's covering the NLCS NOT THE ALCS.

Yeah, you get Buck and McCarver...

You know what? After Caray, they aren't so bad. Maybe that's being generous. Can fox hire Michael Kay for the series?

Joe Buck is the worst announcer of all time. Nobody is worse. I'd rather listen to Tommy Heinsohn do baseball games with Gus Johnson than listen to Joe Buck do one half inning of any game.

I'd like to listen to Tim McCarver if Seth MacFarlane got to write what he has to say.

BTW Lopez Tonight this year is what Frank TV was last year. Two terrible shows that are getting way too much air time during the MLB playoffs.

True, but at least Lopez got Obama to be in his promos. All the famous people in Frank's ads were played by him.

Gus Johnson would make baseball games 10 times more exciting.

Gus Johnson would make watching paint dry exciting.

Just imagine if TBS and FOX traded announcers and Stockton joined McCarver. It would the most horrible, godawful, painful thing ever.

Baseball might be the only sport where his shtick wouldn't work well. I can see him flipping out on every simple double play and driving me insane.

Can't wait to hear Joe Buck start commentating the games for FOX. Not.
