PHILADELPHIA -- Representatives from the Major League Baseball Players' Association are trying to organize what would be a rare meeting between umpires, players and the commissioner's office to discuss growing concerns about the state of umpiring in Major League Baseball.




about time....the umpires have been TERRIBLE the last year

Uh oh, things are going down. I can just imagine the Union and the Umpire's Union marching at one another, West Side Story-like.

Just last year? The same terrible umpires have been doing it for years. It's much more than a year long problem.

It's just frustrating for everyone.

The Rays/Rangers game showed more evidence of blown up umps.

They missed a call on a steal at second, and the strike zone at the plate was the widest in baseball history. Incompetence.
