WAR sucks and I hate that it's being accepted as the go-to stat in comparing players.

Why because it measures a player's complete game? I hate that players are judged only by what they do in the batters box...

There isnt a stat out there that measures defense accurately.

does it matter, it's pretty obvious that Trout is built much better to contribute defensively than Cabrera is. Not to mention Trout OWAR is higher than Miggy's. People fail to realize by getting caught up in Miggy's power that Trout has 13 more 2Bs, 8 more Triples, 12 more Walks, 7 more Runs, 32 more Steals. So despite Miggy's big HR advantage, Mike Trout actually has 3 XBHs before even counting walks and his huge base running advantage.

The Angels will give him a massive extension within 2 seasons and he will accept. Dodger fans starting to sound like Yankees fans from 5 years ago.

I believe the Yanks will be in on Trout for sure. I'm sort of being humorous by saying he can be a Dodger in that time.

What's the incentive for either (Trout or Harper) to accept large extensions before free agency? It's hard to peg for the Angels since there are no comparable players for Trout -- what do you even offer him?

considering what Fielder got, and the fact Trout is a much better player, he should easily eclipse that mark. I would not be shocked at all to see him break the ARod mark. He'll likely be just as good (and cleaner).

Pretty much, Trout at 20M a year is a bargain anyway. Look how many stiffs make that much now...

I think they'll get a deal done before the 2015 season.

Being as I think the Yankees could be in a very dark, desperate place by the time he's looking for a deal, I wouldn't be surprised if they try to throw 25-30 million a year at him.

Of course, all of this is pending him and the Angels getting something done midseason.
