Great deal for the Angels. I'd give Trout $200+ Mil easily and laugh straight to the bank.

I only hope the Nats can retain Harps for something similar but I doubt it.
Eric Maynor is the worst basketball player I've ever seen.

Good deal for Trout. Angels still controlled many of those years. Special talent and projected to be a great, but life happens. Players get hurt, tail off, etc. He's assured himself of being a wealthy person for life while still holding the potential for a record setting contract and the ability to choose his team when he's in his prime.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy
