Because I found it funny:

During today's DBacks - Yanks game, Michael Kay referred to Doug Davis goatee as a "landing strip", totally oblivious to what that actually means in terms of hair...

i dont think its that serious, and i think Kay is a little more professional and much less juvinile than you and your thoughts
