I am going to go with Jimmy Rollins of the Philedelphia Phillies. His play has just been steller this season for the Phillies scoring over 100 runs as a lead off hitter.

Jimmy has proven that he can hit for power and average in the one hole. He is a way above averge lead off hitter in this league and in my opinion he is very underated.

It's amazing how the majority of the MVP contenders may not make the playoffs.

the phillies have scored the most runs in the NL. it's not exactly mind-blowing that their leadoff hitter would score a lot of runs.

Those guys were invited to play at Turner Field. They even have their own commercial during some Braves games.

Holliday has hit 11 HR's in his last 12 games to keep the Rockies' dismal playoff hopes alive.

Holliday is batting 50 points higher than Fielder, that's absurd. And he's batting over .300 on the road as well, while hitting more RBI's on the road than Prince has on the road. I just don't think HR's is enough to justify Prince as the MVP.

If Milwaukee makes the playoffs, that helps Fielder's chances, but that still doesn't change the fact that Colorado has a better record than Milwaukee, while playing in a better division.

Nice, so he should win player of the month your saying. Actually no he shouldn't Jack Wilson and Matt Holliday have been better in September.

David Wright>All.

Not that it really matters who the best player in the league is to the voters as I have a feeling that Fielder will win it.

Fielder winning it would be as bad as Morneau winning it. Ramirez, Utley, Peavy, Rollins, Wright, Pujols, Holliday, Chipper Jones and Cabrera have all been better. And I think you can make a shaky case for guys like Brandon Webb and Brad Penny.

At best, he's been the 7th or 8th best guy in the NL this year.

My favorite part is he's hitting something like .395 with something like a .410 obp. Woo hoo nothing like a Johnny Estrada'esque obp on your side!

Of course he's batting .365 with a .459 obp this month but whatever.
